My new car...

They have quite different personalities

Drive both and then you'll be thinking differently. The MG ZS is definitely worth more than a 400 IMO - they're aiming for different markets

I recently sold my ZR and I wish I hadn't. The MG Zed cars are just so much fun

This goes on from my point about the handling, it just grips and grips, I'm really surprised by it...oh, and my flat...SURROUNDED by NSL twisties :D I couldn't ask for more!!!

Engine note is awesome, can't wait till I get a xorst fitted!:)

I'm not saying that you should buy one I'm just saying don't just dismiss it

Why, its horrid both inside and out (regardless of how it drives). I'd rather put my money into a car that still has its original manufacturer alive, isn't built to a budget, and has slightly more elequance than your typical 1990's eurohatch.

Especially for the best part of THREE GRAND.

Had it been a few hundred more than a similar rover, fair enough.

how much is your insruance on this then?

ain't you 19 and already wrapped a new astra?

Remind yourself of your record when it comes to car 'incidents', then kindly refrain from jabbing about his!

We know you can get a MK3 Mondeo cheaper than what he bought the ZS for too, before you remind him for a 2nd time.

my indicents?

i only had 1 small fault claim in jan 07, total cost of damage to other party was <£500 including hire car

If you say so.

I researched ZR's, ZS's and ZT's thoroughly, believed the same as you do, then actually ran some insurance quotes.

I just tried describing to Tom on msn...see if this makes sense to you guys...

The best way I can see to compare the ZS to say his MK3 2.5L V6 Mondy is this...

Tom's Mondy, is primarily a fast 4dr family saloon car, which has been modified and eats up twisties when needed.

The ZS, is primarily a fast twistie muncher which can be used as a family saloon car when needed.

Does that make sense? or have I had to much to drink? :p

Funnily enough, I 'actually' ran some quotes as well, it came out higher.

You and I both know that the bloody moon phase or tide can affect a quote :) :p

I think they are fairly nice cars, all of them seem to be in that bright blue you have though...don't like it myself.

Other than Tom's being a MK2 not 3, and neither being that "fast", then yeah, its a decent analogy :p

Well I don't know the Mk's, I thought it was a MK3, oh well.

And 200bhp in a 4dr saloon is pretty quick. His car certainly beats quite a few other things on the road.

It's the most popular colour, the nicest imo.

The Trophy yellow is nice, but I didn't want it. Don't like Red, looked boring in Black or British green.

Can you *honestly* say that an MGZS looks better than an RSAP Mondeo though?
