My new car...

lol i was informed that you were an emo and given that you had a saab i believed it so just wanted to confirm

Given that he had a saab you thought it was true that he was an emo?

Do emos frequently drive around in Saabs?

You do say some odd things DannyW.

You've met him, you know he's an emo. :p

Looks like a nice car, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I'm not a 'modern' (read: new reg plate) MG/Rover fan though, if I was to have an MG it's have to be from the 70's (reg plate), and a Rover would have to be from the early-mid 90's (again, plate).

It's a lot of cash, and my money wouldn't go on the MG, but then I don't know what I want as yet when I have that sort of cash in a few months. Will be asking closer to time what is good for the money. :)

Still, I prefer it over the Saab and I'm sure it is much better at handling etc. I'm impressed it's the same on economy though.

EDIT: Oh, and for some of us, it's only on 2 pages. ;)

God not this again :p

I had the pleasure of driving one of these not long ago. I thought they were really good fun and my thoughts were very similar to phates.

Handles v well and 0-60 7.3secs, good after 60 too because of the v6. Its obviously got a total lack of refinement including a very basic interior but isn't that the point?

I'm really confused by the negativity tbh. I personally would prefer to own an mg zs 180+ over an st24 for example, but i've enough respect for known owners on here of mk2 mondeos to not start going on and on about blah blah is better than blah blah, and realise its just my opinion and that everyone likes different things.

Nice car choice imo, hope you enjoy :D

Probably a lot less than you think, due to not a lot of 20 year olds having a history of crashing them ;)

I would have thought so too...

What would servicing be like?

I've seen that mpg is something like 15-20

I don't particular like the front end but I would feel rather special cruising down the road in one of those :D

Apparently so :p must be OAP Emo's ;)

Thanks buddy! Your welcome to a passenger ride at the next RR! (as is anyone else for that matter)

Before I moved most of my driving really suited the Saab, i.e. lots of motorway etc. Now I'm surrounded by twisties it really did drink more than a fish...the MG is built for these roads, so its 1000x more fun and uses less fuel :D

Thanks dude! glad you thought the same! Can't wait till I've woken up enough to go out for another blast today! :D

i dont get the need for the union jack on the car. my golf doesnt have a german flag on, for example

i got the impression rover were trying to sell their cars based on the 'merit' that the buyer was buying british lol

exactly, it's not like its a car to be proud of

People can be proud of whatever they like :/

I would very much say owning a Mondeo is not something to be proud of, for example.

Maybe he means it's not a car that makes you proud to be British? Like a Lotus for example... if that's not what he meant then he's talking rubbish, you can be proud of your own car whether it's a 1 litre Nova or a Ferrari.

i aint proud of the mondeo i plan to get rid shortly, the poor build quality is really ******* me off but its still better then a rebadged rover 400

It's ok its got 'character'.

Danny's Mondeo (in my view) has no character...it's just a boring Mondeo...my previous cars have had character...but then they were all well under £1000 and were all a million miles+years old. :p

So long as I can get to the RR Phate, I'll take you up on the offer. :)

I'd probably agree with that, my dad drives the same car as DannyW. It can't be seen as anything over than an A to B tool IMO.

I know I'd take the MG over the Mondeo, but I've owned a Rover 400 with a Honda badge before (5dr Civic VTi):o

Phate in either I want a new car, or I've bought a new car shocker thread.

Must be that time of the week!

Car looks tidy enough, wouldn't of been nice choice but as long as you're happy.

jeez lads, get off his case. its a 2 grand car, leave it be. he could have done a lot worse!

congrats on the car :) enjoy
