My new car...

The "should have bought an st24" dont realy come into it i got one outside (well its a cougar but its the same realy)

There must have been an old guy with a set sqare in a brown coat down at longbridge that understood what it makes to go round corners flat was all about, they realy do handle well.

I would have had one but the interior put me off , it is, well not to my taste but phate likes it so its all good .

On a side note ,my friend who has a racing licence had a blast in my ZT the other night, he came back with a comment,,, that surprised me , my god it handles realy well what would the ZS be like ? it's supposed to be better.

Enjoy the car m8 :)

My god, I can't believe some of the replies in this thread. He is clearly very pleased with his car but people are leathering him for not buying a mondeo? If he wanted one i'm sure he would have bought one. Instead, he prefered the MG. If everyone bought the same car then how dull would this forum be?

Some of you should be ashamed of yourself, clearly bringing previous posts Phate has made into the equation to belittle him some more. I think its out of order personally...

What 1400 quid car is built better than your mk3 Mondeo and is not a million years old?

i'm willing to spend more for better build quality, i was in a 53 plate vectra sri today that seemed better built then my mondeo and looked nicer aswell, off to test drive a 2.2 sri tommorrow its £3500 with 100k miles 52 plate iirc

Don't listen to some of these trackday warriors phate, I bought my ZS as it was an ideal cheap second car to me but i was actually surprised how much fun it is to drive for a front wheel drive car. There is still a ZS running in BTCC which says a lot about how good the chassis still is.

Given that its taken a bashing here. Quoting from the back of Evo mag who actually know how to drive and do it for a living....

MG ZS 180:

Plus points + Sweet V6 engine, pace, tidy handling.
Negative points - Rather pricey for an old honda.

So surely going off the comments by Evo magazine, the only downside is the price, and as hes got it fairly cheap that makes it a good buy?

Only bad point i can see really is that its gonna cost you a small fortune to tax, but thats about it.

Some people have stuck a type B torSen differential in the front and its made it even better aparantly.

oh god. dont, just dont.

Christ paradigm, why don't you tear Phate a new butthole while you're at it :p

Looks alright to me, not my sort of thing but looks alright for the money. I don't recall ever driving one though. Take me for a spin next RR.

lol i was informed that you were an emo and given that you had a saab i believed it so just wanted to confirm

Are you insane? The Vectra is awful, it's only better built if you've just had the senses in your fingers burnt off in a horrific yachting accident.

You got a great bargain and you are about to spend £2000 more on an inferior Vectra thats only a year newer? Somebody get him a straight jacket.

If you want a better car, buy one, don't buy a Vectra.

How is it? The quality of the plastics is terrible, infact, to be honest, the whole thing is pretty awful.

What does a 52 plate Vectra Sales Rep Inside do that a Mondeo Zetec youve already got that 2.5 times less money not? If you want an upgrade buy a good car, if you want an anonymous dull looking mass market hatchback keep the Mondeo.
