Nvidia GTX 280 - IN STOCK NOW!!!

i was going to say: a bit much posting it in every forum topic even (motors?)(or as far as i can tell)

i brought my 7800gt when it came out for about £300 (roughly) and before that had a 6800ultra (agp :O) cracking card but that cost about the same. now , ill not spend over £150 on a video card.

i guess ill be waiting a couple of years for these to drop by which time i would have upgraded my mobo , hopefully have a much better cpu, ram, and then new gpu tech will be out.

i wonder how much profit nvidia are making.

gtx 260 - $400 ~ £250 ex vat
gtx 280 - $650 ~ £400 ex vat

They have got to fall in the coming weeks. No point in buying now unless you are wealthy enough not to care.

Hand delivered by Kylie Minogue, dressed up like in the Agent Provocateur video, sucking on her finger, mouthing "I want you deep inside me" I still am not handing over that amount of cash.

You'd think but the 8800GT's didn't fall by much, although they were in short supply from day one.

Agreed.

I barely use my PC for gaming since I got my 360. Apart from CS:S, and that doesn't need anything amazing graphics card wise.

Had a go of Grid last night on my 360. Just booted it up and it runs flawlessly whilst looking amazing, without having to do any tweaking.

When you can get that from a £150 console, a £450 graphics card (which you'll no doubt have problems with, and will be out of date within 6 months) is ridiculous.

Lets not pretend no one has problems with consoles. And it's hardly going to be out of date in 6 months. The 8800GTX which came out at a similar price well over a year ago, still maxes out games today.

if only they did that at high resolutions.

It does.

im sorry but they dont. im not silly, i know even my g80 gtx struggles at 1920x1200 with high end graphics and AA and they are quite a chunk faster than the gt's. you only have to look at the results of the cards in the gtx280 reives to see the average framerate dip in to the low 30's and even lower in a lot of titles.

Hello there :)

My first car only cost me £500

Should have bought one of these and saved a few quid :D

Bet it does 10 miles to the gallon :p
