Nvidia GTX 280 - IN STOCK NOW!!!

I wish they would show exact stock on their system not 10+, it would be interesting to see how quickly they go down.

A few months back I would have been drooling over this, wanting to upgrade etc. But since I got my 360, I have not really touched my pc for gaming. Initially I was worried I would get bored of the 360 fairly quickly, but I have actually grown to enjoy my gaming a whole lot more.

Now I have a 3870 which is sitting doing nothing, and all these new cards are merely something I am curious to read about, rather than something I want.

I think I would sooner get a PS3 than upgrade my GPU.

hahaha, I was going to get one for certain at about £450 but this is a joke, its barely better than the 9800GX2.
I agree - far too expensive, however i'm honestly not that surprised it's as pricy as it is. Seems to be the way it goes with a lot of top end hardware these days. :(

Pretty glad i got the GX2 when i did as i could have easily ended up waiting for this. :D

Looks good for ATi too - especially if they come in at a good price point.

Imagine if we didnt have such good $:£ exchange rates.

So these prices are harder to compare with 8800gtx launch prices.

To be fair there's pretty much no stock everywhere. Nvidia may have overestimated people's willingness to pay such prices as well.

i bet ATI are laughing there t*ts off now looking at them prices
best bang for the buck ATI by a mile your going to be able to crossfire 2 4870s for the price of 1 gtx280 and still have change left over

Out of curiosity what sort of setup will you need to have to not bottleneck these gpu's.

As long as you run at least 1920*1200 with plenty of AA, it shouldnt be a problem. A 3ghz c2d should be fine. Obviously older games would be cpu limited, but whats the difference between 150fps and 250fps?
