Hi guys
I've got £200 to £300 to put towards a laptop. I could spend more but honestly, i dont want to invest that much money in to one. I dont -need- a laptop as i have an awesome PC. I'd only really use it for a few things, i'll list below:
1. on-the-fly internet using wi-fi or my mobile as a modem. Nothing taxing. Just emails and/or boredom news reading.
2. Uploading photographs from my EOS 10D to check lighting levels, and generally just to see how pictures are turning out mid shoot.
3. music perhaps while im out and about.
I have a portable external HDD for holding music and photo archives so the HDD space doesn't matter.
Given the above, my questions are relatively easy to answer i hope.
A. would an Eee PC be suitable for the above? Could i run Winamp, and possibly Adobe Lightroom on the Eee PC (windows version tbh. cba to fiddle with linux)? I'll assume Firefox etc will be fine.
B. Does anyone have a picture of their Eee PC i can look at, so i know just how big it really is? the 7" screen will be fine for looking at photo's, but what is screen quality like?
Thanks in advance.
Edit:
Also, what would be the benefit of paying almost £300 for the EeePC 900, when i could get something like a "Fujitsu Siemens ESPRIMO Mobile V5535 - Intel Celeron 540 1.86 GHz - 15.4 inch TFT 80GB 1GB Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic" for £265? With the fujitsu, XP would go on, and an extra 1gb ram would be added. Then i'd have a 15.4" screen to view photos on.
Is there any reason i'm not aware of to pick the Eee PC over a regular laptop?
