Firefox 3.0 Download Day (Guinness World Record)

Well im just glad I can now access the Cisco and HSBC sites without them timing out! I'm not sure what the issue was, but these sites just didn't load properly with FF2 and I had to resort to IE to check them out, but now I can finally get rid of IE! A great day!

Mind you, did anyone else have problems with certain sites and Firefox 2?

Liking it so far, last I used was Rc1 and seems better than that. It's not crashing when I use my email either, which RC1 did :).

What advantages does giving your favourites tags have?

just installed FF v3 on my portable apps (USB pen) and its lightening fast

so much faster then my home vista 64bit machine with FF v3, hmmm

I leeched 2 copies one on my work laptop and 1 for my home pc :) Now if the damn Noia Extreme theme could be updated to work everything would be peachy!

In the words of Darth Vader: "Impressive ... most impressive ..."

Admittedly my office machine is no slouch (3Ghz Core 2 Duo E6850) but FF3 runs on it like greased bloody lightning - FF2 never struck me as annoyingly slow, but this is a hell of an improvement ...

For those that don't like the (not so) "awesome bar"

this is what I've done to turn mine off

Use "about:config" in the address bar

Type "browser.url" into the filter box

Change the following values

browser.urlbar.matchBehavior;0
browser.urlbar.maxRichResults;0
browser.urlbar.search.chunkSize;0
browser.urlbar.search.timeout;0

I would presume that timeout may not need to be changed to 0, but I set it to that since all the others were off too.

The "Awesome Bar" is no more :)

Not liking the address bar so far, but I will persevere with it and hope I get used to it....

apart from that, my theme doesn't work :(

does this make it so its like the FF2 address bar? i.e still get history but not bloated like FF3?

they should have just made a Enable/disable option for it

why dont you like the address bar? I think its great.

you dont have to type the first word in the correct order. IE if i type weather it will bring up NETweather as thats the weather site i frequent most often.

People dont like change, including me, but this I see as a good change.

For me, its because I had a routine. I hit the g key, pressed down and hit enter. That took me to the forum I spend most of my time on. But with the new address bar, it wasn't giving that to me as the top option. Same for most of the other sites I visit.
