NV to ATI who is gonna jump?

No I refuse to upgrade until battlefield 3 but will get a 9800 gtx only if they are sub £100 seeing as the 4850 is available for £120.
Ati drivers have always been sub standard imo having owned plenty and having certain games crashing or just not working at all.
Look forward to maybe picking up an £80 second hand 9800 gtx in the mm cant see how anyone can ask more than that for one if the 4850 beats it and is £120 brand new.

Seriously? I've always found them leaps and bounds ahead of nV's offerings...

Well yea from the ati I have owned have always had problems with new drivers and older games.

apparently so a friend informs me, there will be a price drop from his supplier next week (nvidia cards). dont know any more than that atm but that should obviously include the 9800gtx's

They will have to go below £120 simple as that really you cant charge more for a card that gets trounced by a cheaper card.

8800GT owner here on a P35 board. Crossfire is looking good at the mo, but I'm not changing the mobo for the pleasure. Hopefully a single 4870 will be a good step up. When are reviews expected?

Waiting to see the 4870 reviews and price. I specifically want to see power consumption, if it's not too much more than my 8800 GT and I can get a 512mb one for £200 then I'll be ordering this week. 4850 isn't enough of a jump to be worth it IMO, and can't do 4850 xfire on my board.

Happy to be (hopefully) going back to ATI and their superior drivers, and that ATI have some cards worth going back to them for finally.

im on a x38 atm ..waiting for 4870..then maybe a 4870x2 in xfire.

hoping that will last a while :)

cant knock ati drivers on vista 64 my 2900xt has had a nice run of drivers since i got it.

Happy with my GTX for the moment. The 4850 seems hardly much better than the GTX at the moment.

However if the 4870 is near to nvidia's 280 performance for a good price i may be tempted.

However even that doesnt seem hugely worth it. No game really struggles yet at 1680x1050, even crysis is perfectly playable on high/very high.

I may wait till the end of the year or see whats out Q1 2009.

There's a good chance my next card will be a 4870... That won't be for a while yet, though. Actually, if ATi is doing refreshes every 6-8 months or so it might be whatever that is.
