Steal a Bentley, make 3 police cars crash and what do you get...?

Make it like Escape From New York. Convert some of the Scottish islands into prisons and chuck them in there. Also what's wrong with the Prison Gangs. They may even get all of our roads repaired (8 hour shifts 24 hours a day) in a timely fashion.

Just my 2p worth.

Bring back hanging.

And Strokes for moderate/major offenders.

Perhaps take a page out of Singapore's tougher set of rulings.

I'm not saying make it like for like, there are some stupid laws my country have thought up (i.e. laws on underage sex, chewing gum sales e.t.c.) - but it is rather efficient and to an extent, deters the less serious crime offenders.

Gotta love GD, it's like the 'Have your say' on The Sun, or worse; the Daily Mail.

There isn't any money in the pot, we have debts of 3%GDP, which, is very, very bad. Now were slowing into a recession and Labour not putting money aside during the good times now means we have NHS, War and the 10p fiasco debts to pay, with less money coming in. Ala C02 tax to the rescue ;)

I would hope so id be well and truely annoyed if i lost my bently and the kids that stole it get a silly sentence like that !

I agree, kids need to relise they cant do stuff like this instead its slap on the wrist and dont do it again attuitude. Yea that will work

i knew saying that was pushing it.

Not entirely, but a good deal of the people in the UK's prisons are now immigrants

Exactly, like David being a great example :D

He can be so easily mislead from urban myths and poor tabloid journalism though. As it stands, I firmly believe immigration is on the rise and certain petty crimes are on the rise too - however, they are not to be said to be dependent.

Well the police should not have been chasing them if they were likely to crash. But then again, if they did crash and kill someone no doubt it would just be an 'accident' and the officers would get a slap on the wrists.

So the police shouldn't chase criminals then?

If they crash whilst running from the police, it's their own fault.

The crooks should be made to pay for the damage done to the police cars and also fix it themselves whilst under supervision.

No surprise really.

Cops do a good job, get a result and place them in front of the courts for a paltry sentence to be handed out making you wonder why you bothered in the first place.

This is why many cops are leaving the job. The judicial system we have is nothing short of a joke.

I have it on good authority that the Home Office is to issue cops with a crystal ball to forsee such happenings and make a decision on that.

If you steal a car and fail to stop then, in my opinion, you are on your own and should take the responsibility and heat from anything that happens.
