Howdy,

Is there a way to check my temps on my Northbridge?

I have my E6750 @ 3.6Ghz, it's stable 6+ hours Orthos, picture here: http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/3011/w00tnt9.jpg

However i'm now running back at 3.2GHz because i noticed my northbridge could litrally burn my fingers if i kept a hold of it for a few seconds.. I tried the Asus PC probe but it isn't showing me the NB temps.

Thanks.

I'd say if its stable dont worry! have you changed the voltage for the NB? whats your case cooling like?

I had a problem with over heating ram that was too hot to toutch and crashing my system so added a Antec SpotCool System cooler from OCUK and aftter 2 hours of prime ram test it was still cool to toutch and solid as a rock!

It's only £11 so what have you got to loose!

Funny you should talk about the spotcool.. i do have one, but i can't put it over my northbridge because my CPU cooler "Thermalright IFX" sticks out over the northbridge.

My NB voltage is at stock, only things i had to change was my RAM/CPU voltages.

As for case cooling i have a Thermaltake Shark, 1 120MM fan at back and 1 120MM fan on front.

should be ok. My p5k pro NB tops out at 62 and runs fine. It's hotter than i'd like but it works so i'm not too bothered. Try putting it in at an angle to blow air over it? my case only has a 120 at the front and back but adding that spotcool made a big difference?

it just comes up on speedfan. That should show everything cpu, core temp, NB Hdds etc. Just make sure you run it as administrator or it might not show everything. it'll show as system on speedfan. if you've not got it just google it and download it it's free. it should control your fan speeds too :-)

errr... not a clue then. can you view temps in the bios? i know you can on mine. talk you later. sorry couldn't be more help!

Unfortunatly not checked through all the BIOS everything there but what i'm looking for. :P

Tried the new Asus PC Probe and still not showing NB temps.

Unless you have the top end version of the board then it doesnt give a northbridge reading.. so I think you need the delux version I know my P5K-E doesnt.. Closest reading you will get is the motherboard reading which is taken from a sensor inbetween the NB and lefthand side of your RAM i believe.. If you use speedfan you will probably see 3 sensors from the board 1 is the motherboard sensor, 1 is in the CPU socket and the 3rd I believe is near the power moffetts (sp?!) but mine had always read 222c so I dont believe that one works on my board at least
