Hi

I have not paid much attention to the latest graphics cards, I was wondering what is currently better performance than my current card.

Can someone put them in order of performance

Thanks

It looks like.

GTX280 = 9800GX2
4870
GTX260
4850 = 9800GTX+
9800GTX
8800GTX = 8800GTS G92
8800GT
3870
8800GTS G80

Not sure where I would put the 3870X2 in there, it can be as fast as a GTX260, or as slow as an 8800GTX.

Thanks. So a 4850 is the same as a 9800gtx? For only £120??? Surely that is wrong or that is a bargain card. Would my MB take that type of card?

It's a bargain card, thats why we've been raving over them since they came out, and yep, cheapest I've found them was £130 inc :)
The 4870 is looking to be just over £200, again with really quite impressive performance compared to NV (about 10-20% slower than the GTX280 on average), so incredibly good value, not to mention they can do native 7.1 over HDMI for media pc fans :)

It's faster than a 9800GTX. Nvidia are releasing the 9800GTX+ next month to compete.

The + sign means it's die shrunk and clocked higher.

The bazillion 4850/4870 review threads that contain oodles of benchmarks of multiple cards. :p

My question wasnt solely related to those cards, i know they are more powerful but I wanted to know which were higher than my card. So i asked and someone answered. Dont see the problem myself.

Thanks for those that helped in a friendly positive way that was relating to my question.

And thanks for your attempt at stating the obvious for those that didnt. :D

I'd get a 4850 if I were you mate, they really are the best bang for bcuk right now and will likely end up 2x faster than your 320MB GTS in many things, especially with AA/AF on. You can get em for £120 if you look around. :)
