Unfortunately that is price fixing which is illegal in the UK. All retailers are free to sell at what we want.
Nope, wrong.
rrp does not include VAT
Therefore £217.36 = £184.99 plus VAT
£184.99 = $360.72
Therefore they are only 20% premium not 50%
The cheapest they could ever be on a straight conversion is £180.16 inc VAT but we never, ever get straight conversions in the uk at ocuk or any retailer.
That's just a fact of life.
I reckon we have about a £20-£25 premium today caus it's launch day and they have stock.
I have no problems with that and why shouldn't they.
Look at 4850 prices and how they have dropped in a week as everybody has stock and the initial price premium has dropped.
Don't forget 4850's were only meant to be out today and the 4870's not out until 3rd July but ATI brought them forward.
Assess the situation on prices on the 3rd July before judging.

I'm waiting until a few more etailers have them in and the price drops, I'm sure Overclockers will have the best prices. Also not interested in a 512 version will wait for the 1gb. Never felt the urge to have new product the day its launched but for those that want it now, good luck to them.
