either i pay them the money they have demanded and become homeless
or i pay them the money htey have demanded and bankrupt myself

i pay maintenance every week
and now they have taken over the case they have said that this is doubled next month due to unsubstantiated erreas

so because i am making sure my daughter has everything she needs

i am left with no other alternative but to move out of my house
ive asked my boss for more money
ive asked the bank

stupid thing is - im not saving anything

i cant see how they expect me to go out and work to provide for my child

when i cant afford to live myself

yeah
hence asking my boss for more money

but it means that short term - i cant pay rent/bills etc

The CSA truley suck, my freind was in a similar situation not long ago, they took all his wages with no notice and refused to give him the money back, even through they admitted an admin error..

Damn, reading this thread has alerted me to two things.

1.) I'm amazed the CSA has found someone.
2.) Condoms don't look so expensive after all.

i could understand some backlash if i was being uncooperative

but i pay maintenance regularly and have never missed an installment

and the csa found me VERY quickly

are you paying or are they taking?
they can only take a certain percentage of your wages after taking into account your 'reasonable' outgoings.

Of course, errors will mean they will often take more, but you know what they like!

dont get me wrong - i love my daughter more than i could tell you

i have no regrets other than the circumstances being different [which i wont go into]

its just the situation this company has put me in

and the fact they speak to you like you are dirt

It's another example of the decent people being punished, great job.
Having never been in this situation I don't know what your next course of action would be. Maybe get down to the Citizens Advice Bureau to see what they suggest? One thing's for sure, the options presented to you are a disgrace and just unworkable.

they are taking off me now - but before i was giving of my own accord
roughly £5 a week more than they suggested

but they are leaving me with £500 to live on

or £150 after rent basically

exactly

i could understand this kind of treatment if i was an unemployed layabout or whatever but i work hard to make sure i pay what is required of me and a bit more on top

and they have basically forced me out of my home

luckily my mum has said i can stay with her for a bit but i dont see why i should have to abandon my entire life and live like a kid again after 3 years of coping on my own

i'd take legal advice. yes your daughter needs looking after but she has two parents for that, who do you have to look after you? no one, especially the government.

I don't get this..

You are paying less than you were but you now have less money? Why do you need to leave your house? I don't really understand this here I think you've been a little vague..

i couldnt afford to take legal advice on it

they have suggested i send in a breakdown of outgoings

which i pointed out would go something like

rent £350
car insurance £50
petrol £50
council tax£75

oh wait thats the £500 gone before ive paid for energy, food, pention, water

you know

the basic things that keep you alive and all that

because they are taking these 'fees' that they cant prove i need to pay

saying i havent payed etc

which leaves me with £500 for the month

i will be paying less in the long run

but for this month i will not be able to afford to live
