!!!IN STOCK ATI 4870!!!

Why not let HIS and Sapphire know that Powercolor are undercutting their prices and ask them if they would consider lowering theirs to compete properly?

Especially Sapphire, I mean with their ETA being Friday like the Powercolor cards, who would take one of their models over the cheaper brand?

HI there

Your preaching to someone who has been doing this for nearly 10 years, already done that but Sapphire know their brand demands a premium and as such can charge a bit more, but the amounts are not huge anyway.

If an new 4870 is around 80% performance of the nvidia 280 for half the price, imagine the price/performance of the new 4870x2!! I take one of those:D

Nope i payed 270 pounds for my HD2900XT on release day may 2007.

These cards are a bargin.[/QUOTE

Iv paid top end price for release day buys when limited stock from 6800ultra/X800XT PE/ 7950GX2 and 8800GT 512mb but that still doesnt mean that 3-5 fps extra warrents a £200 price increase over XF 4850.
Im not saying these cards are not great( i do think they great and prices good)
What im saying is the prices between 4850 and 4870 in too big for little performance increase, hopefully some new drivers and benchies may tell me otherwise, i guess ill sit back and wait(holding off urge to get XF4850 atm)

Ah right, fair enough. :)

Powercolor for me then! :D

Would you advise pre-ordering - will there be ample stock on the day?

Hey Gibbo, is there much difference in the various HD4870 Bundles pls?

Like games etc?

Thanks! :)

You counting a HIS screwdriver?

If you have your heart set on one pre-order and it will ship as soon as they land, we will have good stock of the cards so should not be a problem but as I said if you are certain of the choice then just pre-order.

If you change your mind just contact the sales team up to the point of switching and you can always switch over anyway.

ah ******...been very tempted all day....and just bought one....a bit late in the day but will I get it tomorow now...please try :)

Were on it, hamsters are working overdrive on the server to get all the orders processed and we put new duracell batteries into the warehouse this morning.

well maybe you could go for a cheap nvidia solution instead, such as the GTX 280 perhaps lol.

Does any one else think that the 4870 are overpriced compared to the 4850 's ??
These cards in crossfire so far has very little difference and no where near enough to warrent £200 extra for XF 4870 over XF 4850.

I know all the cards are the same but whom is generally better PowerColour or Sapphire?(both being the same price of course)

I would imagine they are all reference cards tbh and thus all identical. I would only be interested in RMA service tbh and whilst i cant comment on Powercolour i can tell you Sapphire is total pants.

I think most of the distributors of ATI's cards are pretty much on the same level, so you shouldn't see much difference between companies though some might be easier to get RMA's through, though personally I've had better experiences with Sapphire cards rather then Powercolour.

Because crossfire generally doesn't get you great performance gains in anything, it's much more economical to get 1, 4870 then it is to get 2, 4850's since it's cheaper and then somewhere down the line if you need more power crossfire drivers are more likely to have matured and give you a much better boost in performance.

Hi there

Spoken with forwarders this afternoon and we've have just paid an additional £600 to get them here with us on Friday so with any luck that should mean they will. However things are never 100% guaranteed with couriers.

Does that mean they are going to go up 60 pence each?
