Traffic cone and note left on my car today

Should have waited for them to get home and called them names and made farting sounds in their general direction, its the only way if you ask me. Nah nah ne nah nah is hard to fault, its worked for years!

Actually stealing their cone would have been cool followed by 10 years of ransom notes sent to them with bits of their cone and photos of it all over the road married to a weekly skip delivery to said parking spot full of cones!

we have a pretty bad parking problem at home, its a couple of road "village" that doesn't really have enough off or on road parking. Theres a business estate down the road and the gits at the garage there park down our road instead of using their precious spaces on site :(

While its a real pain, and we've complained to the garage and local council numerous times (to no effect unsurprisingly) you just have to suck it up and get on with life. We have a couple of cones we use occasionally if were picking up heavy stuff but you just have to accept that some people will move them....

Having been in a similar situation in the past, I can assure you that the mature action is never to take the cone, leave a note saying 'thanks for the cone, bitches!' taped to the nearest lampost then dump an old Transit in the space a week later with no front hubs or rear axle and a cone superglued to the roof.

No. You should never do that.

i would swap a cone for a transit, must be worth a bit weighed in.

you got any more dodgy transits going let me know ;)

Had the same problem when I moved house recently....new build on an established street....the old farts across the road (being old) didnt like the change of extra cars parked on the road and were very hostile towards us, until I had to explain to them that theres enough room for everyone and the road is public. They seemed to have calmed down now.

Pah thats nothing. Outside my house in swansea is a small street with free parking on both sides. Tis fairly quiet except at school picking up times. The old fools that live a few doors down from me cone off 2 or 3 spaces in front of their house every day. This causes issues as sometimes its too busy to park and those spaces are wasted.

To cut a long story short my housemate and I went out and removed all the cones and put them in our garden. Next day more cones were there and we promptly removed them as well. Over the weeks we removed a fair few cones and had a massive stash. They have since stopped coning off the road probably due to running out of cones!

Hate people that think they own the road!

heh, yeah stealing the cone would have been funny as hell :)

i had a note stuck to my fuel tank on bike once... so wanted to post one back reading 'fancy a cup of stfu', but I thought it best to keep the peace.

a m8 suggested I write one back something like 'thanks for covering my tank with tape glue, in order to avoid this I've stapled letter to your bmw instead'

Im loving these thanks for the cone notes. I know what to do now if someone ever does the same to me!

I used to get this when I parked in my mates street "please don't park here this is resident parking" etc. Which it wasn't.
I was younger back then, I did a turd on the paper and left it in the spot.
Yeah...

gf + friends got harrased and ganged up on by residents on a street near york uni - not funny these idiots who think they own the street outside their house. Police got called and everything

This happened to me once. Parked up in a nice quiet village right next to a river estuary and next to a pub... got some lunch in the pub literally 20m away from the car... came back half hour later and some muppet put a note on my car saying I shouldn't park here? Erm? There was a clearly marked out white box for a car. No sign saying anything about it being restricted! So I can only presume that I had broken some etiquette pact that the locals have... shrug!

What's annoying is that I was sitting outside in view of my car for the first 20 mins, then went indoors. So they either waited until I disappeared or it was just pot luck they didn't do it when I was around. Would have loved to have asked him what he/she was doing and then explain why what they were doing was misguided :)
