!!!IN STOCK ATI 4870!!!

i had a not full gpu cooler and the ram sinks gave me a head in they would stick right hopefully when 4870x2 will come out as with stock cooler it should be hot hopefully someone will make some full cover nice gpu blocks

:) i haven't got a problem with it tbh. i just want a reason from the mod..

Its best to take it off the boards.

It was just a case of the thread not having constant monitoring, there have been several other suspensions of 24-72 hours just issued from this thread.

If you have a problem with the decissions take it to email / msn (if you wish to discuss it with myself).

I think they'd be bottlenecked in 8x8x8x8x mode and also Quad CF has not really proven itself to scale that well yet...

yes

4 PCIe x16 cards running @ x8,x8,x8,x8

i will buy a 4870 maybe next week then buy another in a month or 2..

Is that pci-e 2 or 1 though?

And have you seen the reviews with two 4850's at 8x in xfire? That was on a p45 board and I suspect it may be a bios or deisgn issue with the board rather than bandwidth but worth consiering before going xfire.

all 4 pci-e x16 slots are 2.0.. running 2 cards will be at x16.

no i haven't the reviews.

u cant crossfire four 4870x2 as it would be octo crossfire not quad which is not supported and probably never will because you would need 1500 w psu

4870x2 as 512mb x2 = 1gb. but tbh i don't see why they call it 1gb because crossfire doesn't add the memory together.

Well maybe not. One of the improvements alleged is the shared frame buffer, so a 1Gb card means 2 GPU's have access to the same memory pool of 1Gb :)
