E8200 temps?

Hiya, what are safe temps for the E8200?

I hve just put mine into my mobo and stuck it straight on 400FSB, so running at 3.2GHz

My temps are 70degrees there abouts!

Is this a little high?

my VID seems low too @ 1.0375v (or is it cos my E2180 was higher)

My CPU is running using the stock cooler, going to get a decent cooler on Monday at work

I'd say it's a touch high although you are on the dinky stock cooler and 70c is fine anyway - the wolfdales have a higher tmax anyway so can cope.

My 4ghz e8500 @ 1.3v (1.26v in Vista) reaches 46c at full load under water. A decent air cooler would probably see 55c-60c.

ah VID of 1.15v now with latest coretemp

Also, grab Realtemp as that is meant to show the correct core temperature.

I get 10c higher with coretemp versus real temp.

hmmm realtemp vs coretemp

Which is correct?

Real temp is correct, simply because it considers the Tjunction to be 95c rather than 105c.

But whilst it says your temps are 10c lower, you're still the same distance from the Tj as you are with Core Temp. Swings and roundabouts if you sk me.
