Wimbledon 2008 **Spoilers**

Never mind Nadal, you know he wont beat Nadal, I know he wont beat Nadal ...let alone Federer the form he is in.

But you and I both know that if Murray wins this, the newspapers tomorrow will be full of how he is now going to win wimbledon, create world peace, find the cure for cancer and become our first interplanetary ambassador :)

I want to know why there are English people cheering on the the Frenchie?

If I'm being generous it could be that they think he has been playing the better tennis and were rooting for him on that basis. More likely it is remnants of a throwaway comment that was blown out of proportion regarding Andy Murrays allegiences during the last World Cup.

Anyway, I'm just hoping he can finish the match a winner as he has shown remarkable fight so far. :)

Teach the crowd a lesson? What on earth are you on about.

They are supporting home interest

Gasquet has already admitted that this is fine and if in France the French would do the same.

Do you not cheer at sporting events

It's nothing to do with them cheering Murray on, I would do the same. I certainly wouldn't boo the Gasquet though. There's just simply no excuse for it and so shame on the British crowd

God I hate some of the negativity towards British sport sometimes, especially on here. If Murray gets through this match he has every chance against Nadal, the last time they met in a major he caused him a fair few problems.

LOL :D

The sad thing is that its actually true.

That's the beauty of this - you never know.

I don't care about the papers. I don't have to read them and quite frankly the ones which will proclaim that are the papers such as The Sun and such like.

Murray just aced a game. Nice.

Yes and the last time that England played Holland and Spain in a competitive game we won both times, that doesnt mean we would beat them now, now does it?

If you asked me who is more likely to win out of Nadal and Murray, I would say Nadal each time.

Who is the guy who wears the black cowboy hat?

Does he have a season ticket to centre court or something?

And no one in their right mind would disagree with you. What's your point?

My apologies, I thought you were saying about my statement that Nadal would beat Murray was negativity and that Murray had every chance to beat Nadal because he got close to beating him last time.

I guess that was my point with the England reference.

No. His point is that you are being FAR, FAR too negative. He has a chance. Give him a chance. Don't just right him off.

^^ Exactly

Btw the last time England played Spain competively was 12 years ago right? God knows the last time we played Holland competively.

Murray last played Nadal in the 2007 Australian Open IIRC.

Not a very good comparison.

I dont deal in negatives or positives. I deal in reality. Of course he has a chance, everyone has a chance, Derby had a chance last year of winning the league (albeit an astronomical chance). The reality though (as indeed he agrees with me with his point that anybody with any sense would agree), is that he wont beat Nadal.

My utter apologies though, its terribly unpatriotic of me....one mo...

Yay !!! Come on Murray !!! Slap this frenchie and then destroy Nadal !!! You can do it !

There.

Again a ludacris comparison. The bookies will have Murray at around a 3/1 underdog whereas Derby were more like 10000/1.

There is no doubt Murray would have a very good chance against Nadal, especially after this performance (assuming he wins) and with the British crowd behind him.

derby had to be consistent over 38 games over the season to win the premiership. Murrey has to have one good match to beat Nadal, but no please keep making stupid irrelevant comparisons. A better comparison would be Tottenham beating Chelsea in a cup final...oh wait that happened despite Chelsea being favorites didn't it ;)

What utter tosh. Can you see in to the future? No you can't. In your previous post you stated and I quote:

"He won't win."

Of course there's a chance. Federer has been beaten on clay. It isn't his best surface, but the same goes for Nadal on grass.

Of course then you could say that Nadal is stronger on his weaker surface than Federer is on his, but there you go.

Good god...you're like a pitbull...just dont let go do you. My derby point was that everyone has a chance at anything (provided they are in it of course), it wasnt a direct comparison to anything, tennis related or not tennis related.

Look, you yourself said that anyone in their right mind would pick Nadal to win every time against Murray, just about 5 posts ago. Sheesh.

See above. (cept the pitbull bit :) )
