We had a recent flyer drop by our local police, all good handing out there phone numbers and generally showing "face". But as always (so it seems these days) one of our lovable "minority's" just saw it as a new something to complain about.

I don't see why British police should have to apologise for somthing that clearly doesn't set out to offend anyone!

I don't think it meant to offend anybody, or that there's a massive issue. The counciller himself said that it probably should not have been aimed at a certain group of people "woops..sorry"..

I think the article probably blows it up slightly too..
 
So it's an advert for a British police force tailored towards the British public who are a nation of pet lovers yet these cretins deem it necessary to complain?

Simple solution! You don't like it then please feel free to bugger of to whatever dustbowl your ancestors arrived from!
 
No offence to anyone intended here, but seriously its a picture on a poster, if you don't like it, you don't have to live in the UK, this country was and by the fact we have the royal family (queen is head of church of england) still a christian country (well after they integrated/removed the druids/pagan beliefs).

I understand people have differing religious beliefs now with other cultures coming to live here etc and certain religious groups seem to be more prolific in complaining about things but come on its only a picture of a dog. What would they do if a police person came around to introduce themselves with a picture of a dog on their keyring or worse bring one of the police dogs with them :eek:
 
its a picture of a puppy on a poster...theres nothing offensive about it and there certainly isnt any reason to apolagize

really grinds my gears!
 
I think somewhere there's a group of Islamic lawyers who spend all day finding things to get offended about. Is there anything that isn't offensive to them?

As people have said - if you choose to voluntarily settle in this country - our laws apply, not yours. If you don't like it, there are 194 other countries to live in.
 
Let's see what's more offensive. A cute little puppy sitting on a policeman's hat or scores of innocent people laying mangled on the floor after some Islamic nutjob detonates a bomb on a crowded underground network?
 
On a similar vein:

Railway Police here in Brighton have deployed sniffer dogs to find any drug dealers/users coming through Brighton Station.

Yes, you have guessed correctly.

There were no complaints about the dogs except for muslims.

In the local paper one copper remarked: 'Tough, they are still going to get sniffed anyway' :D

As someone who stays in Dundee I think this is ridiculous.

Now, Im not a racist person, far from it, but it makes my blood boil so much that I have visions in my head of going straight down to their mosque and "having a word"

GRRRR. Whats happening to the UK? Wheres the sense of pride and nationalism ?

Australia seem to manage to make their feelings clear.

Now I am really starting to dislike anyone Arab, and its mainly brought about by our pathetic "Goverment" (read dictatorship), and those Arabs/Muslims who feel the need to fan the religious flames.

That's retarded. Jews have never complained that you can buy sausages and other pig related products from shops, including a 'pear-picking porky' ice lolly, why should muslims have any right/difference to complain about a picture from one of our 'christian' country's police forces? Dispicable.
