When is this coming? it says soon on there website?

Also does anyone know if you move house and virgin is there or the house already has a virgin account can you cancel without being charged?

Goto phone up tomorrow, but just trying to sort prices and stuff in my head before I talk to them.

Well...learn something everyday.
Talked to Customer Services...they refered me to Faults...who refered me back to Customer Services...
Apparently 10Mb is not possible over the 'set top' box...which is what I have. So, they are going to send me a modem. They say it will arrive on Wed between 08:00 and 19:00 hrs...ho hum...
I'll update once I get the kit...

The irritation factor here is that I had no idea that there was a 'limit' to the set top box. I knew about the proposed 'free' increase to 10 Mb and was simply waiting for it to happen...
In fact I had rung Customer Services earlier this month to ask when the upgrade was forecast to be complete for where I live...
I wonder how many other people with set top boxes are quietly waiting for the upgrade...going to be a long wait.

Sheer happenstance meant that I got 'nailed indoors' all day today, waiting for CityLink to deliver packages...now with tomorrow's Virgin modem having a delivery forecast of between 08:00 to 19:00 hrs, looks like I'll be stuck indoors again
Bet it arrives later rather than sooner :D
Still...as long as it does arrive!

Did the modem arrive and how did it go??

:DHi MikeTAD,

How did it go, i hope the modem has arrived and you have managed to successfully install the item. If it is an AMBIT V/M cable modem, please make sure that the cable modem is activated first and that the sync and ready light is solid green and your V/M BBI is working.:D

Thanks,

Boaby

I'm happy with my 20mbit line... don't need much more from them... 50mbit would be stupid because they would just cap us all to 500mb a day or something silly.

My modem did arrive yesterday...hooray...isn't it nice when a company says that they are going to do something...and then they do it :D

I'm holding off setting it all up as I'm in the middle of a new pc build...I cannot afford to have my internet connection 'go down' as I have been having some problems with the build and need access to these forums (had several problem build questions successfully resolved via the forums).

However, I have 1 stick of RAM that is faulty...have to return the all of the RAM under a RMA (once I finish the pc build). Plan is to set up the modem over the weekend...will update then...

20 Has never been on the table to be upgraded to 50Mbit.

It's a seperate premium product.

50Mb was recentley trialled in Kent quite succesfully I believe. The 50mb connection will be on a new network which should aleviate some of the constraints on the 10mb -20mb customers. Whether 50mb will be utilised day to day is another matter entirely

isn't 50mb on a different frequency????

Am in Manchester and not expecting upgrade till end of July. I was going to go to Sky BB but after the faults my brother has I forgot that idea...

People complain about virgin but in 5 years I have never had to complain once.

My bro on the other hand wouldn't touch them with a barge pool, he had phone line problems once and now doesn't trust VM. But after trying 2 different phone line suppliers he still isn't happy.
