Stop............. Kuro time

love the tv - not so kean on the backlights (esp for £67)

Would really love one of those tv's esp with yearly bonus coming up but I just cant spend that much )-:

Does 1920x1080p 60hz work from PC, DVI-HDMI? VGA input doesn't support 1920x108 only 1360x768.

Ain't got a clue, don't use PC with the screen and don't even have a DVi to HDMI cable, although I tempted to try one sometime for some 50inch 1080p team fortress 2 :D:D:D

what backlight system are you using? is it integrated into the tv or a second unit?

Got it off avforums, the Apollo LED lighting kits in the lighting power buy section. Awesome kit and makes the setup even better.

Each to their own. I find that it reduces strain on the eyes after long periods, plus it does give the illusion of even darker blacks, but that isn't really needed.

But for some films I do have them off. Gaming looks better with them on though, especially everybodys golf :)

If you could try as a PC monitor in the manual..

Not a clincher not to buy this set but a bit disappointing if it doesn't although with a HTPC with Blu-Ray quite important. which I might buy rather than a seperate player or PS3.

I'm very jealous....Nice Ad. Thought you might be splashing out. I would have got one myself, but I couldn't really afford to. That and my Girldfriend would destroy me as I'm supposed to be saving for a house deposit which is nowhere nearly as exciting as buying a KURO!!!

Enjoy it mate - Starship Troopers looks fantastic!

BADBOB: Il have a looky if I can, or maybe even try to get a cheapy dvi-hdmi cable to play with. Im sure it will support it over hdmi, I think it was component that had less functionality.

DEAN: Cheers, You have a good gf, mine gave up and just said buy it already and stop talking about it :D Really should have started saving for a despoist as well, but used the credit card for this and should easily be able to pay it off by Jan so not too bothered.

Starship troopers is my fav disc, and the ultimate demo disk.

stunning TV mate, who needs food when you have that to watch :D

Going to treat myself to one of these after christmas I think.

Awesome TV, i'd nab one if I could afford it, instead i'm waiting for the Samsung Series 9 (950) in October.. hopefully that won't break the bank :D

I'll let you figure that out yourself. Let's just say I've had faulty Samsung for over a year, stress, multiple phone calls, a dozen engineers, and when I decided to get another Samsung that was faulty too.

And they still haven't fixed them. I sent a email to Samsung stating I wouldn't want a Samsung product even if it were free. Spend your money on something else.

Been following the thread on AV/Forums from day one and wonderd when you would make a post on here and even thought about making a thread for you ;) congrats  Was very close to getting the 46X3500 but was put off by the smearing that's reported so it looks like the 5090 is going to be the screen for me. Had a quick look at one in a store that's local to me at the weekend, they demo'd Casino Royal for me but which looked great one minute then grainy the next, even the mrs said it looked grainy after we left but i explained this was the BD not the screen but i think she was quite under whelmed. :( Not a good thing when you are planning to blow £2700 on a tv. :)

The grain is a part of the film!

did she notice it was black and white, too? :p

Going to buy a Pioneer 6090 for every room, including the garden shed :-D

Like Jonathon Woss then

from Pioneer website said:
"I am, I believe, what is known as an 'early adopter'. Over the years I've had just about every games console, portable media storage device, mobile phone and solar powered cappucino maker on the market. I bought the first portable Apple Mac when it came out in the late 1980's, at a cost of about 97,000 pounds in today's money. It was only really portable if you had biceps like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I once managed to blow the fuses on an entire floor of a hotel in Madrid by plugging it using a faulty transformer. So it won't surprise you to know that I have already worked my way through about a dozen plasma televisions since they first appeared and offered us a sleeker, brighter future with more floor space. They have all been lovely, and I don't regret a penny I spent on any of them. But the best by far, in both stylish good looks and ease of use, not to mention sparkling, crisp, beautiful picture quality, are those made by those nice people at Pioneer. I like them so much I now have 23, and am looking to buy some more walls so I can hang even more of them on display. Thank you Pioneer. PS Does anyone want to buy some mp3 sunglasses with a built in digital camera? I have the only pair in the country."

You do realise that if you don't have grain then the disc will probably be a US one with DNR all over its ass giving a picture as soft as vhs. Casino royale is an amazing disc, but starship troopers really shows you what blu-ray can really do.

What's the gaming performance like with the new Kuros?

games work, they look nice, very smooth motion, no retention of course. Sorry not much else to say, haven't gamed a lot yet, will give it a go this weekend.

Going to buy a Pioneer 6090 for every room, including the garden shed :-D

ok ok ok plasma fanboi :p :p

Just come back from brick lane and am full of bangladeshi goodness and cobra, time for bed and muchos farting......mmmmmm. :D

If gaming could be 'proven' to be smear-free (or at least, negligible) i'd sooooo get one of these over a Series 6/7 Samsung....

I have my doubts though :P

Samsung = peugot 206
Pioneer = Ferrari F430 Scuderia

Most accurate comparison, especially with the reliability of those frenchy cars.

No problems in gaming, plus the super fast response time of a plasma does help. But for me i prefer the more natural picture again, rather than the un-realistic and too colourful LCD screens. But that's me.

If you buy a smasung, have fun trying to get around problems, new firmwares left right and centre, non existant tech support, and generally dealing with a flawed product :D
