DC5 to S2000?

Practicality wise you can't beat a convertible - remove the roof, and you've no length limit to what you load up - the sky's the limit (literally) ;)

I thought that but my new Tv wouldn't fit on the passenger seat.

In other news, they do make great cars for Christmas trees :D

Right I've seen one I want. Waiting on insurance, if all is good then I'll list my car for sale and I'll be looking to buy in the next fortnight.

Well I went to view the above car just now. Unfortunately I couldn't take it for a drive as the sales bloke wasn't about and there was only their car cleaner there. I had a good look round the car and it seems to be a very good example. The interior is mint, none of the wheels have kerb marks and the engine bay is nice and clean. I did the usual checks and nothing seems out of the ordinary however I picked up two things. First one is a small mark on the boot lid, about an inch long. I can feel it and I think perhaps the paint has bubbled a little bit as it is certainly raised. I asked the bloke if it could be sorted if I was to buy the car and yes it can. Also, the gap between the bumper and the rear panels isn't spaced evenly, ie as it gets toward the rear of the car the gap increases ever so slightly. Is this a common thing? It's the same on both sides. I know Honda's sometimes don't have the best fitting parts but it did seem odd.

The car was generally a bit dirty but there were next to no stone chips and the bodywork was in excellent condition as was the interior.

Unfortunately I'm going away with work tomorrow but I am calling the sales chap up to go over some questions. I plan on going to see the car again next week, get the test drive and then possibly buy it depending on whether my Integra sells or not (they did say they can take it as a part ex, not normal really since it's the DC5 import...) And yes, I'll probably get a RAC inspection done, £200 isn't a lot considering how thorough the checks are. I'll try and get the garage to cover the cost if anything bad is picked up.

It's had three owners as well which seems a bit high but I'm not bothered. Also is there anyway that I can check to see if the recalls have been done (if any on the rev 2)?

Anyway, here's some photo's I took.

Lovely looking colour in real life. Good choice.

Rear bumper fit is normal and a known issue. You can check the recalls on the Honda website. Don't think there were any for that age.

Insurance will cost me an extra £85 per year so that's OK. Just sorting out my deposit, fingers crossed, and if mine sells quick enough, I'll be owning the above car within two weeks. Knowing my luck as soon as I get it there won't be any days where I can get the roof down.

All I can say is take it easy for the first weeks and find somewhere safe to learn how the car goes at the limits.

Other than that enjoy it!

Get at 02+ with the glass rear screen, it's a lot better than the plastic one and there are other refinements in the 02+ model too. 04+ I believe has traction control or some sort of stability control (I think).

VSC was an option from 2006, its meant to be pretty good.

The 2000models have the bigger screens but they are crappy plastic. They also are the most 'hardcore' version in terms of handling. They let go with oversteer, this was dialled out on later ones. Later ones also have softer suspension. 2004 was the main facelift with new light and bumpers at both ends. Engine oil consumption was improved and also the chassis is apparently stiffer.

I'll be taking it to Caste Coombe :D

Get it to Donnington, suits the car much better. Combe is a power track.

Although I did drift around the whole of Quarry corner once. :D So wish I can find the guy said he was gonna email me the video of it :(

Just out of interest how much will you be paying for insurance? I would love one but at 21 can't seem to find any quotes a decent amount below £2000 :(

It's a 2003 so it's 5 years old - and whether rational or not 3 owners would make me a bit nervous as well.

Its a 52 plate, can't you see the pics?

I can't see how that makes sense about owners from you, someone who doesnt care for milage. I understand it may affect somepeoples choice but surely the car's condition and service history is more important than number of owners
