I'm back baby!
My girlfriend has a little boy and he's taken to calling me daddy recently, though no-one prompted him to.

I've been treating him like a son for the past year and a bit or so, he's 5 in November. All-in-all he's a normal, healthy little boy, and he's awesome.

When he goes to his daddy's (ie, his paternal father) he's started experiencing some weird stuff. He will not go in the spare bedroom alone, and if he's put in there when he's asleep he wakes up crying less than half an hour later. He won't go upstairs on his own, and he's made his other dad shift his bed into their bedroom so he can be in there with them. He doesn't mind going to bed on his own in that room.

He will wake them before going to the toilet so they can listen for him and talk to him when he gets back into bed.

At my girlfriend's house he's fine. He's confident, he'll go anywhere in the house on his own at any time of the day or night. He'll go to the toilet on his own, he'll get himself a drink of water... he's just as normal as can be.

This difference at the two houses has been building for a while.

For the past fortnight all he's spoken about are the white floating orbs at his other daddy's. No-one else can see these orbs, but even when he's asleep with his eyes open (which kid's aren't really awake but are responding to you) all he talks about are these orbs. He's also started having nightmares.

Has anyone else experienced similar? Has anyone heard of these white orbs being something kids talk about? His other dad is pretty spooked.

Very strange. How does he describe these objects

Could he be doing it to get more attention? As in he doesnt get as much attention there as at your house?

nothing quite like that, but my lad since he was 2 has been waking up saying his legs are on fire, the wife reckons in a previous life he was a fighter pilot who was shot down.

no idea where his strange legs on fire thing came from but it spooked me out first few times as he was mumbling some other stuff i can't quite remember now also.

Maybe he means the visual distortion you get when you close your eyes tightly and you see white spots?

I don't think so. His other daddy is very conscious of the fact that I spend more time with him than he does (he's there every other weekend) and they spoil him rotten and he takes all their attention :)

Sorry, I should have said, they float in the corner of the room and it is always in the same place.

Freudian slip Gilly?

On topic, seems a bit strange. Maybe he just doesnt like his Dads house, in the sense that his mum isn't ever there and it's not home. The orb thing could be so many things it's hard to guess where to begin. I mean kids make stuff up when they aren't happy, but it could just be his imagination running riot.

That or he has been watching too much derek acorah!

could it be light from outside entering his room and appearing in the corner?

eg a headlight from a car as it drives past glowing into the room?

I have felt very uneasy about certain rooms and houses, my old grandad's house christ that place had some not nice feeling about it. It wasn't particularly spooky looking but felt very close and like something was always there.

Does anyone else get any feelings about the room? Being 5 its quite interesting he is describing what he is seeing so well.. would need to have quite an imagination to think it up by himself

When I was a kid about that age I used to see exactly what he's describing, blobs of light that would float about the room when I was in bed.

I've no explanation for it other than I grew out of it.

Same thing with me when I was younger staying at a certain persons house, and it turned out to be spot style lights that seemed to glow in the dark. i t terrified me for years until I was old enough to figure it out.

It's said that kids very often see things that adults don't. When my two were a lot younger they both often said that they'd thought they'd seen a dog in next doors garden and when they described it, it was exactly the same as the next door neighbours dog which died before they were born. The dog is buried in the garden and neither I, Mrs. Feek or the next door neighbour had ever mentioned it to them.

I must stress I've never been upstairs in the house (in fact, now that I think on it, I don't think I've ever been in). It is on a main road so there could be some light entering the window. He's only got a white blind up and no curtains apparently  It's no wonder they complain about him getting up earlier recently!

He's dad is a bit slow but I think if there was a light source inside the room causing it he'd be able to track it down. The strange thing is that no-one else can see them.

Sounds like its just going to be some light coming through the blinds from outside.

Should see if you can check out to be honest Gilly.

My guess is that the people that say they canny see it have prolly walked into the room had a look from just inside the room from the door and said they canny see anything and it can only be seen when you are lying on the bed.
