Portal obviously

THPS soundtracks are great 2 and 3 in particular

Deus Ex (I know it doesn't have lyrics but its good enough to still be mentioned in a thread just for game music with lyrics)

World in Conflict:

# "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"
Performed by Tears for Fears

# "Shadow on the Sun"
Performed by Audioslave

# "Here I Go Again"
Performed by Whitesnake

Ooh and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. Ok will stop editing now :p

Video game music shouldn't have either lyrics, or real instruments.

But then again, i live in the past where the best game music ever created exists. I'm talking C=64 people.

Portal.

Was a bit of a memory in music for video games to be honest everybody was wanting to hear it, everybody wanted the mp3.

Snake Eater: (MGS3)

I actually bought the soundtrack for this game a few days ago off a popular auction site just so I could get this song. I mean I had it already, but some of the other stuff on the soundtrack's pretty good as well, and I'm not even normally into that stuff.

To Zanarkland - FF X

It might not have lyrics in but it but I get proper shivers whenever I hear it. I think this song, imo, is possibly the best song without lyrics in a video game ever, although I think you have to have played the game through and absorbed the feeling of it before you start to get shivers. I even tried learning it on guitar lol. Takes about half an hour to memorise ten seconds of it though :)

snake eater, when you are climbing that ladder forever and that is playing, it makes the long climb almost worthwhile.
And for the intro it's all very bond.

That's one of my most memorable parts from that game. Probably that and when you've finished fighting the boss. But no I think the song playing whilst climbing that ladder really brings out the feel of tha game and what it's tryin to put across.

And the bit about bond! That's what I was thinkin' a few weeks ago! Like having it set in a pretty imaginative location with nasty bosses and lots of lovely lookin ladies lol (well.. only one maybe :)) But still it almost follows the same structure as most Bond films.
