Conspiracy Files: The Third Tower

I've had too much wine and am too tired to carry this on. So keep on wearing them rose coloured sunglasses, cos everything will be fine.

You can keep wearing your tin foil hat to protect you from the Lizard men, everything will be fine.

.. from some random website I just googled.

that becuase when the WTC was built the planes were smaller, they werent built to survive a modern day jumbo jet direct hit

They were built to sustain a 707 flying at landing speed, with all fuel dumped. They were not designed for a larger, heavier plane, at 530mph, full of highly flamable fuel flying directly at them.

i didnt watch the programme or even read pretty much any of the posts in the thread but i was wondering who owned that last building ?

has he/she commented on why it fell at all ?

Kittens are in fact aliens who seek to control our lives so that they may achieve world domination

There you have it, forget 9/11, watch out for those kittens!

Last one, my head is spinning.
The building was designed to have a fully loaded 707 crash into it.
Given the differences in cruise speeds, a 707 in normal flight would actually have more kinetic energy than a 767, despite the slightly smaller size. Note the similar fuel capacities of both aircraft. The 767s used on September 11th were estimated to be carrying about 10,000 gallons of fuel each at the time of impact, only about 40% of the capacity of a 707.

A good website for all this stuff.

That is an honestly interesting one, as I've read it the other way, but some searching seems to make it look like it could well be as you said.

I would also recommend you watch some Documentary channels on building demolitions. Usually they rip the guts out, destroy half its supporting pillars and rig it to blow from many different floors.

Why bother with all the hassle when they can just spread some jet fuel around on a couple of upper floors and light a match? :D

ore miss-infomation.

The Boeing 707 that was considered in the design of the towers was estimated to have a gross weight of 263,000 pounds and a flight speed of 180 mph as it approached an airport; the Boeing 767-200ER aircraft that were used to attack the towers had an estimated gross weight of 274,000 pounds and flight speeds of 470 to 590 mph upon impact.

The two towers were the first structures outside of the military and nuclear industries designed to resist the impact of a jet airliner, the Boeing 707. It was assumed that the jetliner would be lost in the fog, seeking to land at JFK or at Newark. To the best of our knowledge, little was known about the effects of a fire from such an aircraft, and no designs were prepared for that circumstance. Indeed, at that time, no fireproofing systems were available to control the effects of such fires.

Again a huge pdf file here
