Updtaed 22nd April 2011. Currently only Portal 1.

Bumping this for those who were disappointed in the Prelude pack, such as myself.

I've played through quite a few third party map packs and I'll update this list to include the best. Some are obviously longer than others, some are harder.

Here are those so far that are of a high quality:

The excellent Flash map pack:

PMK1/2/3: [difficult]

[Link currently down, searching out new one]

PMK4:

Affinity: [short, but good ending!]

By the way, some say you have to have HL2 installed as well as Portal for the maps to work. This wasn't the case with me.

tbh if valve released an add on pack with a bunch of new maps i would happily pay a premium for them

downloading these to my usb stick so i can get on them when i get off work

cheers for the heads up dude

I haven't liked any new maps so far apart from these. They retain the same 'feel' as the originals and are certainly well done.

Aye, I think this was in the last PC Gamer issue. I'm also stuck fairly early on. It's supposed to have it's own story line and takes place before the events of the original Portal game.

Just thought I'd bump this thread for those that hadn't seen it yet.

I was playing through these maps more last night and they're very good indeed. Well worth it.

are they easy to add to current steam install? i'm assuming it's like adding a CSS map

Very easy. Just read the readme file with the rar - it's just a matter of tranferring them to the maps folder [and copying a couple of others]. Should only take you a few seconds, really.

A couple of the levels were really hard. There was one that i did by pure luck. I saved it right after, then jumped down and tried again and again for about an hour and just couldnt do it. It was easy to know what to do, but actually doing it required a complicated set of twisting and moving, which is hard when you're falling through the floor and ceiling :P

Lysander, expected so

Will give them a blast tonight

Although Portal does rock, the trailers we saw for it before the release made it look a lot more frantic (because of the way they were cut together)

Probably a silly question, as most people have it via Steam, but I assume that these maps to work with Portal from Steam and not just from CD?

Was really looking forward to playing these but Steam has decided to throw a hissy fit and won't even display any games on the My Games list. I've realised once more why I hate Steam.
