Just been reading a few posts on the o2 customer forum (every topic from monday is about the iphone) and its really a mixed bag. Ppl are getting emails, some are not, some have got 3 emails, some have got 2?
Some people who ordered 2.30 in the afternoon are saying they have received confirmation emails that their order was successful, whereas me, who oreder at 8.30am has got diddly squat?
Really confusing this, and only time will tell know as I don't think I can trust anything anyone says... even if Steve Jobs himself phoned me I'd have to think bout it!
Anybody got any other emails apart from the original confirmation email after ordering?

Why oh why do I have no faith in O2 what so ever?
I still have had no contact from them at all, however my order is still on my account as "In Progress". Payment has been taken, and I got my order through just before 8:30am. As absolutely petty as it may seem, if they don't manage to get one to me on Friday, they can go and lump it. I don't care how many hits they got in 3 hours, they were stupid not to expect such demand. If they can't get the handset to me for release, as they stated when I bought it, they should not have taken £160 from my card.

Wanting to upgrade to 3g iphone
I want the 3g iphone, however I have an existing contract which i took out on previous phone which was an N95. Is it possible to upgrade half way through my contract or ask to start a new contract to get the new iphone?

I am on the phone to o2 at the moment, and they are telling me it is showing as out of stock so i wont get one on Friday, i am on the rampage as nobody has told me anything and i have some silly ****ing Indian person on. They are putting me through to the iPhone dept.

I am now onto some bloke who is claiming 'the iPhone goes live on Friday' and then trying to claim it will be shipped on Friday!!!
He is also one of these people who says 'hang on' till he goes speak to someone, why doesn't he just put me on to whoever he speaking too!!!!!!

Everything you mentioned above is identical to me!
I ordered around 8.30, I got no emails at all, I have had the money taken from my account, and my order status is still "In Progress".
Yesterday I thought everything was fine and I will be getting it, now I am the other way and don't think I will be getting it. The fact they have taken the money from my account p's me off slightly also, if you can;t get it to me, don't charge me for it!
Having seen JUMPURS woes, I'm now extremely doubtful I'll get the phone on Friday. Hell, I'd be shocked if anybody does to be honest. If by the end of play tomorrow I have no word of the phone arriving, I'll phone up and demand a refund. I'm not even going to risk heading into town to get one, as I'm already £160 down!

Apparently "the supply of iPhones is going to be limited because of the simultaneous launch in 22 countries". Duh
Add that to the fact that they'll be short of White models.. it could be better to either a) rush out to 02 on Friday at 7am, or b) wait 2 weeks and see what demand is like.
As I'm on holiday for 2 weeks Friday (wooooo!) I may just wait until I get back on the chance that supply is more abundant.
That said, I'd hate to get back and have to wait for one. Argggh decisions

I'm tempted to get a black one now just so I can actually have one. The grubby marks is the only thing putting me off a black one!
Want to be annoyed even more, this is a post from a dude on the o2 forum... he ordered his after we did too:
I have to say, same thing happened to me, tried most of the morning to get my upgrade done and kept getting the error messages, then around 2ish give it one last try and it said complete, didn't think it had worked as their was nothing in my orders section of the o2 site.
Then about 9pm last night got a mail saying it was in process and then another about 2pm this afternoon saying it had been dispatched and given a dhl tracking number.
Personally I don't think its fair that I should get one based on the time I got the complete message and the times people had been trying from but i'm secretly really happy!
