*** The iPhone 3G Thread ***

I managed to pre-order a 16gig iPhone 3g to upgrade my v1 8gig phone.... and O2 sent it to the wrong address :'(

DAMN!! I feel sorry for you cheif :( I went to the o2 store this morning from 5.40 and they only had 7 16gb....I was number 8 :(

SO after work was surprised that the apple store have LOADS! (And the white one!)

mine didnt arrive by DHL...apparently mobiles are now delivered up until 9pm by DHL from o2..sounds like a yarn...

Still no delivery - phoned o2 and was advised o2 will be moving from DHL in a few months as they passed most o2 deliveries onto third party drivers and not DHL drivers

I was told today I have to do it within 28 days of my contract starting. I just need to get my pac code from Tmobile now (Any idea how easy this is?).. It's a number that's nion a decade old topped up last in March 2007 and another tenner about a week ago :D I'm sure they'll be glad to see the back of me. My rusty trusty Nokia 7210 won't though :(

Very easy. Phone up. Select the option, "If you are thinking of leaving T-Mobile". Ask for your PAC. They have to give it to you.

Enjoy!

I think all media looks better with a slightly warm colour temperature. Menu's tend not too.
Mines not too bad, turning the brightness 100% seems to get rid of the tint. Anyone up for posting comparisons?

Haven't read much of this thread and i'm a bit clueless despite googling it all.

Is there anyway to get the new 3g iPhone without having to pay the extortionate monthly contract prices? I see the o2 PAYG page has changed to a rather vague estimate :(

No.
But the contract is good value for money. Why have a device that you will use tons of data on without an unlimited data contract?

I really don't understand people who complain about the o2 contract. It's excellent value.

the reason i havent taken the contract out is because with orange if i top up my PAYG sim by at least £15 i can get unlimted free data and unlimited texts + my £15 for calls or whatever else.

im using that in my V1.

i do agree the O2 contracts are better this time around, but..... not good enough to pull me away from payg orrange :D

just a noramlly payg sim, registered for the dolphin package, ive had it for months and months now. cant go wrong :D

only thing i dont get is the free wifi whereever i am, but i use my home wifi when at home, and put up with edge speeds when out and about :D

Well, its kinda double thing.

I started with £10 top up with 300 free text, then i saw free evening calls to orange on the net, called up and got that bolted on too, then it also comes with £4 of free net access. And £10 to spent too.

basically same type of thing as me then. its great having the credit left over to use after lol

considering getting the new iphone on PAYG eventually if it can be unlocked
