gastritis, just what the bloody hell can i eat ? :(

So ive been diagnosed with gastritis and if i have to make one more bowl of flavourless vegetable soup i am going to hang myself.

There are no cook books for people with gastritis/similar

its making me so miserable not being able to eat what I want

please help me.

lansoprazole with a side salad of metoclopramide should do it. experiment really, it's generally quite individual on what will flare it, curry booze and fags being the worst things for most

Wouldn't this kind of thing be best to ask a doctor ? How do we know we won't (by accident of course) tell you something that will basically kill you ?

If you have been diagnosed by them, surely they can offer you suggestions to the type of things that you can or can't eat. Tell them you want as much of a varied diet as possible, and then ask if they can offer you any leaflets, websites or whatever to read for information.

I was diagnosed in an A&E whilst rolling around in a bed in agony, My GP kicked me off her list a couple of months ago for moveing a quarter of a mile further away and now i have to wait two weeks before i can get an appointment with the new GP i have found.

doesnt that just last for 1 day ?
i think i had it once and the doc told me water or flat coke for 24 hours.
seemed to do the trick even though it wasnt easy starving for 24 hours

considering the lining of my stomach dissolved and the acute over production of hydrochloric acid in my stomach gave me severe chemical burns on the stomach tissues, id say it lasts a little longer than a day. I think your thinking of trapped wind or mild indigestion, in my case my stomach tried to digest itself.
