I rencently paid £50 for 2 gig of memory,however a looong time ago i paid £140 for 4x1meg simms....

any other older members top that

Not 100% sure, but I think the 64K RAM Pack for my CPC464 cost at least £30 at the time :eek:

Scary price per MB! (£480 if that price is right).

£90 for 16 mb simms on my old 486 from the mid 90's. Had to fit them in pairs in those days.

I'm sure I rememeber spending £200 + on just 2 x 1GB of Corsair and about the same a few years before that on 2 x 256MB.. I forget.

Ah yes I paid something similar when I upgraded my 4mb system to 8mb!!!!! Actually I payed more like 170 quid.

I did have a separate memory chip - for level 2 cache that I could upgrade on the motherboard, I think I paid £50+ for a 64k upgrade or something ridiculous like that!

I think I still have my 286 somewhere - I kept it for nostalgic reasons

bargain at the time

recently paid £117 for 8gb (4x2gb) of ddr2

getting much better performance on the 8gb, i recommend it
