I am seriously tempted to get an iPhone 3G.

The app store is very appealing with so many good looking apps all in one location I can see it being a very big thing.

i have had "no service" on the display since Saturday afternoon do you think i should wait a little while longer i got mine from the CPW.

Yeah, I still have it on mine.

It's just a huge backlog over at O2's Gateway. It's just a matter of waiting..

sorry if its been asked already

can i keep going into a O2 store to see if they have stock of the iphone 3G for an upgrade?

or is this only online now? ( i know it was allowed instore on launch day)

Yeah, you can upgrade in an O2 or CPW store, Apple Stores are taking new customers only.

Although, apparently O2 and CPW stores aren't allowed to sell the iPhone 3G at the moment because they are still dealing with the huge back orders, however Apple are still selling.

i'm stuck in a backorder system with CPW with an unknown delivery date so are you saying if i just go into the city and pop to the apple store i'll get one? i'll happily cancel the CPW order...

Can anyone confirm O2s PAC transfer? Can you only do it within 30days of the new phone contract or any time within the contract period?

Apple store would be your best bet. I was a doubter a few days ago to someone on here, but i was in the Glasgow Apple store yesterday and they where selling them, even had white ones, gurrrrrrrrr

Are we effectively paying our monthly fees already? I'll be looking to get a refund/comp for the downtime if it lasts longer than today.

I'm already an O2 customer but upgraded in February. I could buy myself out of my contract, but there seems little point- I may as well keep it going and use my free minutes/texts since I'll have to pay for it either way!

Any idea if Apple will allow me to start a new contract in store- i.e. will they let me buy an iPhone as a new customer, even though technically I already have a separate O2 contract?

I doubt we are. I would expect the billing to start hand in hand with the sim activation tbh.

All I know is that I am getting slightly ****** off with the amount of time they need to get this issue sorted.

My 16gb that was promised today is not going to be delivered as they have overcommited on stock. :rolleyes:

Anyone know of any in the liverpool area?

28 days for me too. Infact just in the process of swapping my old tmobile payg number onto this o2 contract. Received a text saying they'll be swapped on the 16th.. Been fantastically seemless.

Yep. Cancel and go to Apple every Apple Store has white ones in stock too last time I checked.

Go to this site after 9pm and it will tell you Apples current UK stock in their stores.

Last night they had 16gb white iPhones in stock in every store, black 16gb in most stores and 8gb in most stores.

Yeah i have an upgrade on order which was promised today and hasnt arrived. I am not exactly happy, and CPW never answer the phone!

[edit] Ok so i just had a bit of a go at CPW... Apparently stock is in on Wednesday. I dont exactly believe i will get anything soon though

Unfortunately Im tied to a TMobile contract until early next year so cant PAC until then - because of O2 PAC restrictions I cant get an iPhone without losing my number it seems...

Bit annoying as I doubt theres any technical reason why they cant do it after 28days...
