I usually convert DVD to XviD using AutoGK but i've decided 1 - 2 hours is too long to wait. Is the software that uses Nvidia's CUDA out yet? Would love to do it in 15 mins. I've also got a 1080p MKV I wouldn't mind downsizing to 720p on the GPU. Anyone know of anything?

It does the encoding on the GPU so is not optimistic at all. There are some vids on youtube & a good few sites talking about it & demonstrating it. Just nothing new so wondering if it's about yet...

Is it me, or is this a really stupid reply?

Not really - unless I am mistaken, using the GPU isn't going to help that much (from a guess - i might be wrong)?

I mean using a Quad Core at 3.6Ghz with 4GB RAM AutoGK took around 30-40minutes on a single pass for a ~2 hour DVD, and that was after it was copied to the hard drive which took ~20minutes (limited by the read speed of the dvd drive methinks)

The GPU is much faster then the CPU at encoding
