the actual game would fit on a dvd
LOL...keep dreaming.
It would be possible to do simply because its seperated into acts, but as mentioned there would be too much change needed to the game that I dont think it would be worth it.

Yes it is, the first 3 acts are pretty open ended. Its not just go down 1 straight path. why would it being linear make it any easier to port to the 360 anyway?![]()

Is that really a problem for such a linear game though?
Not a problem at all.
MGS4 would work perfectly well split across multiple DVD's, it's absolutely not an issue. the PS3 needs to install at the end of every act, on the 360 you could just swap discs.
Seriously, I can't believe some people are still banging on about the same tired old arguments.

The only thing that would need to change would be the controller for MG3, which would take them about a half hour to do.
1. Otacon's famous "Blu-Ray" disc codec call.
2. Otacon using a Mac laptop.
3. Installing screens using the "This game is exclusive to PS3" or something like that.
4. The 360 would need a Blu-Ray drive. You would need nearly 6 Dual Layer DVD's to fit MGS4 on.
5. Can the 360 handle MGS4? Didn't MGS4 make use of the PS3's Cell processor (more cores or something)?
6. How would the 360 handle MGO with you needing a Game ID and such and you need to sign into PSN to use it.
MGS2 on the xbox was a bad port though.
So, still looking for the imposibilities.
That would not work. It's definately not impossible, Some of the suggestions and comments are far from plausible though, for example
the game fitting on 1 dvd and the movies on 3 dvds, I thought thestig1 had played MGS4That would not work.
Also there's more than 1 codec message that boasts PS3ness, It's mentioned by more than 1 character too, Which would mean either certain scenes would be deleted, or voices would need to be re recorded, So you'd have to pay the voice actor again, just for the port. (UNLESS they had sense and recorded the alternative vocals while the game was being produced initially)
