Japanese Mk2 Escort, 'nuff said! :D. Lovely cars, hell, i'd make do with a standard rwd Corolla if the road rally crew (Lopez? :D) hadn't bought them all up...
:D

51 seconds in.... lifting the inside front wheel in the wet - he is really pushing there :D

Here is my mates road rally spec one.

Never could decide if I prefer them without the skirts or with.

To do that do we make up experiences of retro Toyotas?

More along the lines of post helpful comments if you know about something and not unhelpful ones if you don't. I have it on 2 pages, and I have 80 post per page, for normal people it's 2.5 pages of garbage, then Lopez's post, and then some more garbage. I fully admit I have not added anything constructive to this thread though.

Should it be one rule for you one for everyone else then?

No, I'm not special.

I actually avoided posting in the thread for ages, because I didn't want to fill it with stuff like 'dont sell the teg' or 'ae86 is awesome/crap' etc.

Never mind, I'll stay out now, just to keep you happy. ;)

well whilst undoubtedly lopez has the best knowlodge/experience here, i was coming from a modding the car point of view as i'm going on whats happened with your two tegs, i honestly think you should check out whats involved once you start increasing power and so on with an ae86, and be clear about what it is you intend to do, as from all the research i've done there a lot of work if you start fiddling and i'm guessing thats what your trying to get away from here.

If your going to leave it as is and enjoy and maintain then great car if your going to end up chasing more power i cant help but feel its going to be even more work than the integra! as merlin says out of the frying pan into the fire!

I know I've said this before, and I can quite literally hear the laughter when I say this, but I honestly wouldn't be modding the '86 if I get one.

hm from reading some of the Teg stuff, id say walk away from both ideas and buy a standard quickish car before picking up another project...as stated the amount of work needed to a standard AE86 is going to cost a fair bit to make it a proper tight motor, and you dont want to pick one up pre-modded because, who knows what the last owners previous experience may have been!

other sensible suggestion may be new shape MR2, great handling ultra eliable... not that quick...drop a 2zz in for 190bhp...jobs a good un?

You'd get an AE86 and NOT mod it?

Pull the other one, that philosophy would last two minutes with you :p

It's still a cruddy old banger with much nostalgic scene tax lavished upon it by initial D obsessives.

Come on Drexel, its time to buy a car thats good now. No more sheds.

Sort the teg or... buy a bike or something!

the one in the OP is pure sex, i dont care how slow it is, it looks amazing

huh, seems you have it a little back to front here, they are not slow (well unless you are into drag racing i guess) the speed and agility is the whole attraction. However they do look rubbish.
