Really wierd, not nice feeling!

Yeah, as others have said, the kindest thing you could have done would have been to have finished it off. That being said, I see loads of road kill where I live and put in the same situation, I'd be damned if I could bring myself to do it.

It's definitely a really hard thing to do, and I bet most people who say they'd do it would find it extremely difficult.

I'd argue that point. Obviously some people will find it difficult, but i'd say people who don't own pets, or who work with animals for a living (Farmers etc) wouldn't hesitate!

Mum was on her way home from work and a car hit a deer. The deer went flying near my mums cars near the middle of the road, as my mum started to stop to see if the deer was dead or not, a lorry went passed right over the deer. Blood sprayed all over the front of my mums car, and I mean literally all over it and the windscreen. The legs went sliding across the road and the torso in the opposite direction. I can't believe it happened to my mum, it was so unlucky especially as she feels strongly towards animals and their well being (she's a vegan) It also makes you think and realise how much damage a vehicle can do at 40 MPH.

Not nice >.<

There was myxomatosis around here a while ago, seems to have died down now, but where i work (Food production) there lots of rabbits, squirrels etc around, things like that seem to spread fast.

Yeah this was a fair bit back now when i was 16/17 just after I got my Shotgun License

Yeah but people who own pets should realise its better to end it then let them let them carry on in pain.

Sometimes I think we treat animals (as in put to sleep/kill than rot in pain) slightly better than people, in a strange way.

Lucky the area manager has reared ducks before and was talking them home with him so happy ending for these guys.

Whilst i agree that killing it swiftly would have been the best course of action, I really couldn't see myself doing it if I had been in your position.

I hate to see anything suffer so i would have had to put it out of its misery. I know this would have been hard for you to do due to your mum being there though.

I feel sorry for any animals that suffer due to human influence or actions.

Poor things, it's not their fault.

Still, I do like it when I see things adapting, like Seagulls nesting on buildings and foraging for food in bins, or squawking and having arguments with each other.

Those ducklings are amazing!

Yeah, it's really great that Seagulls and Pigeons have left left their natural habitat and are scaving in bins and spreading the contents of bin liners across roads etc. I love it when they deside to attack the local residents and swoop into them, causing harm. My local postal workers have been attacked on several occaisons recently, my gf brother was struck by one and badly cut.

Nightmare.

Least the Seagulls don't carry knives.

If we hadn't built all over their natural habitat then the problem would not exist.

They are only defending their young and just doing what comes naturally.

Edit: HAHAH! that Seagulls on drugs.
