GTX 200 owners may get a refund

Only customers who purhased the EVGA GTX 280 or GTX 260 at the full Manufactured Suggested Reatil Price (MSRP) will qualify for the Reimbursement Program.
How many payed the rrp ?

So what about us people who payed £200 ish for an 8800 gt then saw the price plummet ? I guess were second class citizens then.

I didn't like the price so I didn't buy it.

We get this everytime there is a launch of a new product and the people that must have it always pay the premium before the price cuts kick in as they can't wait 1 month for the prices to start getting realistic.

The early adopters then moan about getting stung.

I used to be one of these myself and did it with a 6800 Ultra and NEC 2080UX+. After that vowed never again and so wait for the product to be a bit more mature, get a driver release out for the product and pick up once the price starts moving downwards.

PC Components are like New Cars. By the time you get it home the price has dropped.

Americans sued over £60... LOL.

FIXED

I saw an Atari ST for sale for £20 the other day, I wonder if they'll refund my £280?

Silly sods.....

"if you buy them on release day you'll pay loads and the price will drop within days"

Saw that told to them over and over and over, and then they ignored it, and are now crying for their money back. Screw em.

Given the slow sales reports of the GT280 anyway, this is extremely cheap PR for the vendors. XFX might have to refund all of $25,000 or something. If you are close to the industry you'll know what AVE means - Advertising Value Equivalent - and the potential cost of all the advertising they could have done in this case is far outweighed by the headlines they'll receive for this.

Available to US residents only apparently. I assume that's because anyone suing in the UK would have their case laughed out of court! :)

lol, nothing forced them to buy 1st day at rrp, they bought knowing the price, cant believe they've a case to answer lol

what the hell is the world coming to

aye its pretty god damm stupid.
Its like buying a brand new car for say 15k then 4 months later the same car now costs 12k ZOMG I WANT MY 3grand BACK !!! they would laugh in your face
