Well, my good lady wife surprised me with a late birthday present today - Guitar Hero I & II for PS2.

The bad news is, the GHIII PS3 Les Paul doesn't work with them :(

I've got a PS2, but no Guitars. I am gutted. :(

I've only opened GHI, what do you reckon the chances of being able to take it back are. The shop is a major high street entertainment chain.

if you have the receipt then go see em

She's gonna take them back tomorrow and see if they will exchange for more Monty Python :p
My real concern is that certain shops are being complete gimps over piracy recently and refusing to exchange if the shrinkwrap is broken. We'll see...

If the shrink wrap is broken, you'll probably have to sell it back as pre-owned for a lower price. :(

With the shrink wrap they should take it back no problem.

Take it to ASDA and say it was a gift and you don't have the receipt.

They'll change it regardless.

I used to do this with PS2 games that I'd played for a couple of years and got fed up with. Probably not morally correct but they're a big faceless chain so it's a victimless crime.

surely its within your write to get a full refund if its not satisfactory ?

For what reason is it not satisfactory?
Choosing the wrong item is not reason for return when buying from a High Street store as you had every opportunity to examine the goods before purchase.

Although many stores do allow returns, legally they are not required to do so.

You know the chain "competitor"?
Well they took over a chain called Electronics Boutique.
EB used to have this great "30 day money back, no questions asked".
It meant you could buy a game and no matter what the reason you could return it within 30 days.
Of course the system was abused, so it was reduced to 14 days, then 7 and eventually stopped altogether.
Reason?
Because big selfish "it's a big company so it doesn't matter if I rip them off" stupid people ruined things for everyone else.

Your attitude isn't just morally incorrect - it totally sucks.
I take it you're not yet in the gown up world or earning a living, paying bills, keeping a roof over your head, supporting other people etc
Maybe then you'll realise the world doesn't owe you a living.

I'm so ashamed. :(

I'll have to stop shoplifting from the Pick and Mix as well in case I inadvertantly put them into liquidation but those white chocolate mice are just so damn tasty.

If she chose the wrong item under under the advice of the sales assisant I'd say she's entitled to return as it was miss sold to her. That said she might not have asked any one.
