Anyone else in a drought?

Like some others here, I just don't have enough time to get through those that I do have and there are many I still want to buy.

Good thing is, by the time I get round to buying them, they will be much cheaper.

To the OP, what games have you played the last few months?

im a little bit the same
i cant see any games out now or coming up that i would bother buying

but i look at my 360 games collection and there is...

GRID single player needs concentrating on
R6V2 multiplayer needs doing

then i looks at the ps3 and see...
resistance needs removing from the cellophane
motorstorm needs completing the last 3 tickets
sega rally needs... well, trading in tbh
ratchet and clank needs a good few hours put into it
burnout paradise needs a LOT of time put into finishing the single player and then starting multiplayer
gta4 needs completing as i got to 50% and then gave up
mgs4 needs doing on bigboss and i need to spend more time on MGO
skate needs completing even though i have done it and played it to death already on the 360

and then there are the 10 PC games i have brought recently that i havent even installed

it might be a bad time for new games and upcoming releases
but i have a lot to be getting on with!

I've been a gamer for 26 years, and I can't remember when it's ever been this bad. Maybe I'm just growing up :(.
You are growing up or you've re-prioritised certain bits of your life that push gaming further away because I feel exactly the same. Right now aside from GTA4 I play sod all on my 360 and I used to play on the console for 3-4hrs a day.

I have recently come back to gaming after a few years off to do other stuff. Wow, is all I can say I am spoiled for choice in what I play I haven't finished with my old xbox yet, saving for a 360 but I do own a Wii and that's getting 15-20 hrs play a week from Mario kart and Resi 4. My advice would be to chill for a little while do something else for the rest of the summer come back in the winter when there is sod all else to do, fresh.

Too many games here to. Just started playing the Guitar Hero games too and now don't have time to play Battlefield or anything either :( Managed to pretty much finish Top Spin 3 so thats one game down :p

think microsoft addressed your concerns with scene it and xbox primetime assuming it comes to europe.

Nah, I got bored of Scene it, buzz is much better, can make your own questions etc and play online.

Primetime - YES can't wait hope its as good as it promises !

Far too many games for me to play at the moment, and I do want to complete most or all if I can. Just read a book or do something else if I want a change / am bored :)

Exactly, it's called growing up you have more important responsibilities.

I think one of the big problems is there's very little innovation in games these days, the vast majority are just regurgitations with improved graphics and a few minor innovations, hence why Wii is now so popular.

I came to realise there's more to life than wasting it away in a virtual world, but they are still great for passing time when I need to, I just don't dedicate all my waking to them like I would when I was at school.

The only games that have kept my attention recently are Battlefield and GTA 4. I looked in a games shop the other day and there are plenty of average games but hardly anything that stands out. I couldn't part with my money for any of them so I guess I'll be continuing with BF:BC.

Yep, the consoles only have like 5 exclusives each that are remotely worth looking at, wanted GTA IV so much that i wanted to buy a 360 but I've concluded it is madness as the other games do not appeal to me at all... Also payed for multiplayer what the hell I almost agreed to it but it's truly madness..

Couldn't agree more tbh. Innovation is seriously lacking this generation, it's all about the gfx :(

Take GTA4 for instance, what a complete waste of 30 odd hours of my life playing a game that continiously repeat's itself over and over again. By the end of the game I just wanted rid of it and was ****** off that I'd spent so much time playing it with zero enjoyment.

The only game I can see changing this is LBP (I hope). Otherwise I think I'll just stick to using my PS3 only as a Blu-ray player and game on my Wii as at least Nintendo are moving in the right direction even though you currently have to sift through the garbage games to find the gems.

What I find is that you are best off using this time buying older games that you never got round to playing or finishing off current games. I'm going to get my current ones done before Sep onwards. Loads of games I want..my pre-order list so far for example:

COD World at War (360)
Resistence 2 (PS3)
Motorstorm Pacific Rift (PS3)
Saints Row 2 (360)
Gears 2 (360)
Star Wars Force Unleashed (360)
Lego Batman (360)
Brothers in Arms : Hells Highway (360)

Now most of those are out between Sep-Dec so I'm going to use my "summer" wisely and get Rock Band/Uncharted finished in meantime.

I'm finding it really really difficult to get motivated to play anything.

Struggling to try and finish GTA4 or MGS4
