Gran Turismo 5 not even out before 2010.

That was GT:HD wasn't it?

No, neither is 5P. HD and 5 are the same engine (Eiger is identical in both, as an indicator). It's the physical handling of the cars that had been taken from 4.

Polyphony Digital is a Sony-owned first party studio, so technically the buck does lie with Sony to tell them to get on with it.

I was wondering why there was so much stuff mentioned for GT5P at E3.

Does this mean we will get GT TV and the top gear track in prologue?

it wouldn't be so bad if FTP was any good. I bought a PS3 specifically for GTp and was hugley dissapointed. Forza 2 walks all over it in terms of physics and AI. I just can't see where Sony are spending the time, unless the actual physics engine in gt5 is being rewritten.

What's worse is that I also bought a PSP for gt mobile which never materialized. I've since sold the psp and just this week got rid of the PS3 aswell.

I just hope my 3rd 360 lasts a bit longer than the previous 2, and that forza 3 supports my g25 wheel

**chucks PS3 in the bin**

My initial impressions of the PS3 are now a faded memory....constant delays, no decent games and nothing but CGI trailers at E3

Really thinking about selling this one too and getting a 360 elite. Not long sold my premium and already I'm regretting it......

Sorry for the rant but this news has No Swearing! me off even more

Im not overly happy about the constant delays to the UK playstation store but it wasn't all cgi trailers - the Resistance 2 playthrough looked pretty cool in my opinion, as did a few of the bits of gameplay footage for the upcoming psn titles :)

All we need now is MGS4 to come to the 360. /evil cackle

Really have been having a laugh at reading a lot of speculatiuon and some of the little tantrums you guys are having. I would however reckon its best wait for any OFFICIAL information before people start jumping on the OMG bandwagon.

Some of you must be suckers for any websites using sensational news with the "might" word clearly used in a way to create exactly whats going on here.
If it was actually definate you wouldnt go announcing it on such a site to such people, instead its likely been taken out of context, as more than likely the guy was joking because of the lengh of development time already imo.

The game as far as im aware will still release in Japan in DEC. Europe isnt likely to get the game if this is the case till March or May 09 if going by past experience.

Firstly have a look at these figures, these are in K

2008/4/15 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (North America) 550
2008/3/28 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (Europe) 1,380
2008/2/15 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (SE Asia) 30
2007/12/13 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (Japan) 270

* Note Europe sold more than ALL regions combined

2005/03/10 GRAN TURISMO 4 (Korea) 80
2005/03/09 GRAN TURISMO 4 (Europe) 5,770
2005/02/22 GRAN TURISMO 4 (North America) 2,900
2004/12/28 GRAN TURISMO 4 (SE Asia) 70
2004/12/28 GRAN TURISMO 4 (Japan) 1,240

Instead of moaning I am going to anticipate and look forward to the updates to Prologue that PD will be doing. They are making it quite clear they have serious ambitions for it. I would even daresay they are considering the approach of just slowly forming Prologue into the fully fledged 5 we are all looking for.

Some people call the tactics of EA but they get the job down and make money and sometimes push out some great games, Sony need to kick PD up the back side, GT5 is a console seller I bought the GT3 PS2 pack when it came out, I think it would sell a lot more consoles.

Sony are losing the touch making games so perfect that it takes years to come out rather than bashing a game together what is accepted as a good game not a masterpiece.

The 360 will have had Forza 2 AND 3 before GT5 is out.

I agree i got the ps2 bundle aswell,2 games i want for ps3 is ff13 and gt5 well ff13 is comimg to the 360 so not sure want to do at moment.

Sony have dropped a bollock on this one imo. GT5 would have been the perfect big launch game for PS3 but it just keeps getting pushed back and pushed back.

Makes me wonder if this is the future for video games now though - the amount of time it takes to develop games is rising all the time because of the amount of detail which goes in to them now!!!

Everyone else seems to pretty much manage to get things out on time though, bar the odd delay.

I suppose MS have their own 'issue' in Alan Wake, but that's about it (and Duke Nukem Forever is another matter entirely before anyone mentions it :p)

Halo 3 was delayed, halo wars is delayed, mass effect was delayed, alan wake is mia, Huxley delayed, too human delayed. Its a common trend in this gens gaming, and at the start of any generation of games i expect. It takes time for devs to get to grips with the hardware probably why. Also like i said this is all rumor so im not sure why anyone takes it as a fact, and all he said was MAYBE 2010. Its from Joystiq to lol, so i guess with no one else reporting this or infact a statement from PD or Sony it must be true.
