free antivirus???

hi

at present ive got avast anti virus on my laptop but i keep getting a message saying trial period ending soon please upgrade?

i always thought avast was free :confused:

anyway if i uninstall it whats the next best antivirus for free for my vista laptop?

it is free, you just have to re-new your registration

I put AVG free on my customers PC's and also stick ad-aware 2008 - ad-aware does not do real time scanning (well the free version) I tell them to do a scan once a month with ad-aware jsut to be safe..

of the 30or so PC's Ive had to de-virus this year only 1 has had avg on it, the rest have been a mixture of norton and mcafee + some others - of course this might jsut be no one is using avg.. but I happen to like it..

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 is supposed to be real good its not free but its only £7 from overclockers! <thats as good as free>
