OMG. When will Kerrang give up on bloody Fightstar already! It's fricking embarrasing! HE WAS IN BUSTED AND HIS NEW 'BAND' IS AWFUL!!! Where is the justification?! The band I have most respect for on that sorry list is Coheed, but I don't rate them that highly either. God it's depressing!

Actually the band I have the most respect for out of those is Fightstar :p simply because Charlie Simpson did vocals for This Is Menace on their latest album and it was damn good.

Coheed and cambria have already covered 'The trooper' for a radio show, it surprisingly good, but I'm a fan of all the albums till the last one. They don't deserve to be given as much flack as they get., Oh... IMO of course

Actually I disagree, Fightstar are a good band, they perform well live and Charlie Simpson is an excellent and very varied vocalist, I originally jumped on the 'but it's charlie simpson' bandwagon when he first moved, but after their latest album I have to give him props, i'd be happy to say 'I like fightstar'

Fightstar did a decent cover of a Deftones track, was good.

Unfortunately I could never get into their stuff.

Avenged, I love.

You list them and miss Madina Lake!

Has anybody else seen this article?

After remaster of puppets which had some very good covers on and looking at the list of bands and the Maiden tracks they are covering might be worth a bash??

It can't be worse than the Metallica - Master of Puppets cover CD they put out a few years back, it almost ruined *one* of themost important heavy metal albums of all time for me. Also Dream Theaters Cover of Master of Puppets was far better than the Kerrang.

Kerrang as a whole needs to curl up and die, the tv channel, the magazine, and whatever else is attached to it.

No probs, of course its a matter of taste. I didn't dislike them because he was in busted, i dislike them because they are not that good and they get huge coverage anyway. The fact he was in busted should mean it should be harder for him to be given coverage in mainstream press (and rightly so, why should he have an advantage cos he was in a boyband ffs?), yet it seems he's Kerrangs little darling even though that and his *previous musical projects* didn't stop fightstar getting dropped by their record company for poor sales.

I've got nothing against the guy, but it is a bit annoying the way Kerrang keep pushing them despite a lack of decent material coming out of the fightstar camp. But if they offer I can understand why he takes it.

Bah! I was hoping that "Sign" was a typo, and it was wonderfully eccentric Japanese band "Sigh" covering Run To The Hills. Apparently not, though, so that's roughly 0 bands of any interest to me.

Oh well for a freebie I'll get it and probably like some of the tracks, I did like about a third to half the remaster of puppets from a couple of years back but some were rubbish.

The only Iron Maiden covers I'm interested in is air tight. Perhaps cling film or something.

Its not a bad little cd, can't complain for the cost of 2.50 or what ever Kerrang charge these days.

theres only 3 good bands on this cd
Avenged Sevenfold,DevilDriver and Machine head
the rest are all pap
