Diablo 2 worth a play?

i had like 4 chars at 90+ about 3years ago. It really confuses me now as the 1.10? patch changed everything balancing all the skills :P seriously confuses all my old play styles.
 
Sigh, now I remember why I quit D2. Europe seems so unstable, muling stuff across characters and suddenly I cant even log onto Europe :(. Just lost some nice items ;(

I think all the temporary bans were put in place to stop duping and other unsavoury practices yet the cheaters still get around them and it's the ordinary players who get most hassled. I find you can get away with perhaps 3 or 4 fast character switches in one go but once you do more there's always that realm down risk and the pain of knowing your items are sitting there on the floor waiting to vanish.
 
got some questions about the magical cow level.

i can make cows on normal mode at the moment and im worried about killing the cow king.

if i went into some other guys cow game and some tard kills the king will that stop me making cow levels? or is it only if i make the portal?

also if i make a cow portal and some tard starts killing the cow king if i leave the game before he dies can i still make new portals?
 
Im pretty sure the portal is closed whenever the cow king is killed to the player who opened the portal. So if you create a portal and someone else kills the king then you wont be able to open it again. However, if you go into another's portal and the king dies you should still be able to open them.
 
one thing which is a shame about this game is the lack of support for high resolutions. It puts me off playing now as at 19x12 it just looks funny being streched that far :S
 
See, I'm quite sure that if the cow king is killed, whether you were in the group or not, or whether you created the portal, you lose the ability to create the portal.

This is why everyone goes crazy if the cow king dies. I also believe killing the cow king produces a death spam along the lines of 'The Cow King has been slain', which is unique to the game?
 
if you open the portal and you or any1 else kills the king whilst you are in that same game you loose the ability to open the portal.

if you open the portal and you or some else starts to kill the king but then you leave, providing the king is still alive when you leave you can open the portal again.

you can open the portal with one character then leave the game, come back with a different character and kill the king and both the characters in the game will be still able to open the protal.

the last one is what i do. :)

I reckon they been looking closely at STEAM and realising direct download is the way forward!

My Diablo 2 disks were fine but my LOD CD has been knackered for years so I am glad I can now download it, quite swish! :cool:
 
they charge too much for it though as you can pick up a boxed one with add on for 5 pounds cheaper....
from game site or in game shops.

i like the idea if you write down your cd key you can download it if you get a damaged cd though but my original discs are still working :)

You dont have to buy them from the store. You can regsiter your current CD Keys to your account for the future. I have, and i doubt i will ever actually download the games... but useful just in case. I'm moving house in the future and know i'll lose some stuff :P

Just about to start a new character in LOD, should I go europe or US East? Always used to play on europe but it does seem to be mainly foreigners now?
Acc is jcrowbar if anyone would be kind enough to add me ;)
 
im on USEast and the connection is a pain in the arse. 25% of games i fail to join and stuff. really annoying.
