Well, what can I say. I dont want to spoil it for anyone else so I wont actually say anything more than what an amazing race.

If you thought the F1 was good this afternoon, or even Silverstone, watch this race. This was men at the top of their profession battling with what can only be described as madness.

This thread will have to delve into spoilerdom in order for it to have any worth, but at least you get a chance to watch it on iPlayer beforehand. I believe it will be put up there asap.

So, from this point forwards, be prepared to know who won and how ridiculous the racing was.

I'd give this 3 thumbs up if I had an extra one. Tbh Moto GP = awesome and sad to say as a diehard F1 fan from probably the age of 6 or 7 I would rather go to Donnigton to see MotoGP than F1.

Absolute stonker of a race. I support both men at the front, and the first half of the race was just pure, unadulterated dog fighting.

Been a good day for motorsport. Been spoilt with todays F1 and Moto GP. :)

When Rossi is on it there's only one winner. Stoner cannot possibly win on equally matched machines.

SPOILERS

I disagree. Stoner is young, Vale is experienced. Either of them could have won that race. Both men could have been on the deck, and it wouldn't have been Stoner's fault.

SPOILERS CONTINUED - And probably for the rest of the thread.

I agree with Memphis, I wouldnt have bet against either man winning that race, or against either falling off considering the way they were racing. If Stoner hadnt of fallen I think the end could only have been a blinding demonstration that god does exist and he is a MotoGP fan. I did think Stoner threw his toys out of the pram at park firmé (sp?) if you say his little interview, but his attitude had changed somewhat by the time they reached the podium. Cant help but feel it was a major psychological concession from Stoner, letting Rossi know he can rile him up by driving like a loony :D

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I thought moto gp was getting a bit boring like F1 until this race.
Two guys, two bikes, different styles, different strengths/weaknesses, was a great race.

Don't agree with stoners comments though, i thought it was completely fair, perhaps he'll change his mind after seeing the vid.

Awesome!

I disagree with the statement of Rossi riding like a loony. In most forms of motorsport an overtake is made to the inside (discount Stoner's successful attempt into T1 on the outside ) and Rossi was using all of his skill and experience to retake and maintain the lead (tell me why Stoner couldn't make the same pass into T5?). It's testament to his skill on what has been shown over the past three meetings to be a slower machine that he could stick it to Stoner every time the Aussie used the outright power of the Ducati to drive by.

Rossi then showing the young Aussie the edges of the track is all part of the racing battle. I haven't been much of a fan of Stoner until this race but give him his dues for the dogfight. Rossi, however, left me in awe.

SPOILER

Amazing race just needed machine guns on bikes at start of race as Mamola said. :D

They were aggressive passes but this is racing Vale took the chances when he had them done amazingly well to save it on corkscrew though and to not hit Stoner coming down. Stoner had chances to take Vale and was sizing him up but overcooked it and cost him shame as i think would have been some finish aswell.

Congratulations to both riders truely epic race Stoner set 1:24 i beleive and he crashed 20 second lead at one point on other riders shows how hard they were pushing.

Not sure on Stoners comments but heat of moment thing this can happen but got to be gracious in defeat which Rossi shown when he hasnt come first this season.

G.O.A.T

The man is a legend. He was smoother on the throttle, better at braking and on a bike with less BHPs. I really didnt like the way Stoner spat his dummy out. He rode really well and lost out trying to do an impossible overtake, fair play. Please dont be bitter afterwards.

I really hope Hayden goes to Ducatti and clicks with the bike. It could all then get very interesting.
