it's not for me , my brother wanted to know . he does not like hot running cards like the 4850 , but i am saving for the 4870

They perform similarly to the 4850, but are more expensive, even in USD - $229 for the 9800 GTX+, $199 for the 4850, nVidia are positioning the 9800 GTX at the same price point as the 4850.

I don't really view it as a stop gap card, as AFAIK NV don't have anything faster coming out at the £140 mark for a while. In fact I think there are very few stop gap cards that get released (maybe the 7800GTX 512 and some dual-gpu solutions), it's really a question of people buying their chosen card now, or choosing to wait.

Na, that's why I put "AFAIK", I read that much I cant remember all details (need more RAM)

I'd agree with that, it's really more of an update than a stop-gap. If anything the 9800 GTX was more of a stopgap than the 9800 GTX+, i.e. whilst they got GT200 ready (possibly to prevent criticisms of them missing their update schedule).

There a little quicker, but not by much, It's basically 9800GTX+>HD4850>9800GTX, reviews show the 9800GTX+ wins more then it loses. As for it running hot, thats just more bullcrap, it runs as hot as the 9800GTX which isnt very hot at all.

No its not bullcrap, they are about the same as the 4850's, and everyone is saying they run hot.
