Just called up blizzard support this morning as i kept getting a error saying

"your account is out of pre played time, please purchase some more"

They sad that on early Sunday morning there systems had a malfunction and there having to manually do all the UK direct debits.

So i suggest everyone checks there account both bank and WoW to make sure its ok.

Never understood how people are happy to pay for a game, and then pay to play it?

Insane!

Because all the content is hosted on their servers? Providing bandwidth and server hardware for millions of people to play together isn't exactly cheap.

This has been gone over a millions times before though...

How has no one done the maths of 10,000,000 * $15 a month = $150,000,000 a month for Blizzard?

Or how many subscribers do they have now?

It may be a rip off with the amount of subs they have now but hey no one is boycotting this so don't expect anything to happen. I remember the old days when a lot sub money ended up at some hotel :p

I can't believe that so much of the Earth's surface is water yet we get charged to drink it? it's almost as if there is some kind of service charge involved somewhere...

no one is charging you to drink it though ;)
if you want to risk drinking dirty water go ahead no one is stopping you, there charging for supplying your the water and for removing the impurities and bacteria

And if you want to risk playing on your own on a private server, go ahead... Blizzard are supplying the servers and a quality of service via them.

i have nothing against mmo subs, i played wow for a year or so and many mmos before that.

theres actually some really good private servers these days though

a lot of people mock paying for games monthly, but i reckon a lot more games will be like that over the next few years.

Also, i think the majority of wow players can agree with me in saying for the amount they play, its really not a lot of money.

Well it beats most games available today for value, £40 for say a week of enjoyment before you get bored...

Not to mention games like Fifa where there's a new one out every year with only minor improvements.

Indeed, it's a really simple concept that people seem to struggle with. Before WoW I'd buy consoles, console games, PC games etc etc, spending a considerable amount of money a month. Now I play WoW and it costs me £8.99 a month. I very, very rarely buy other games. I save a fortune playing it.

Because otherwise the game wouldn't exist.

Absolutely stupid thing to say if you think about it.:D

That, and the fact were not tight ********.

Its not that Im tight.

I play online all the time. I play Unreal Tournaments, Quakes, COD4, BF2, Dawn Of War etc and many many others but none of these require me to pay a penny.
