Following on from my previous and very popular thread "Official Bus Driver" I thought I should start a new thread for what aprears to be an absolute gem of a game.

From the creators of Bus Driver, Euro Truck Simulator is a truck simulation game set in continental Europe. The player can drive across a realistic depiction of Europe, visiting its beautiful cities, picking up a variety of cargo and delivering them on time!

I had a dream about being in a truck simulator. I was driving through France and ended up in my hometown which also ended up looking like France (Marseilles actually). Weird.

As good as this will be, I can't see it ever topping the masterpiece that is Big Rigs.

I have to say that I'm interested in boring games like this. What I really want to see is basically a simulation of roads and traffic including police, traffic jams and idiots. With an accurate driving simulation engine like in LFS.

This game looks pretty good. I wonder how good it will be, the only time i have drove trucks in a game was in Rfactor, but that wasnt exactly a simulator, and the wheels were spinning up in 4th gear round corners :D

oh dear :P whatever next!

Well, if you check out the bus simulator thread, you will see they also have a rubbish collecting simulator

I would expect to be collecting a lot of Bus Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator games.:D

They should do a City Link / Parcel Force simulator.....
1. Collect parcel from sender / customs
2. Drop parcel a few times on the way to the van
3. Place parcel at rear of van then drive off
4. Realise you've left parcel on the floor, reverse a bit too far and run it over
5. Back at sorting office, smash parcel with clubhammer. Throw it from van to van.
6. Turn up a day or so late to deliver, dont bother knocking just put a 'we tried to deliver' card through letterbox, or skip the delivery all together. Bonus points can be had by leaving parcel in wheelie bin, pond etc without signature.
7. Clock off a few hours early thanks to all those skipped deliveries.

I totally agree with you. How could anything possibly top such a marvellous piece of coding?

Anyway, I've been looking forward to Euro Truck Simulator for a long time actually, after giving up hope on rig'n roll... Is this game out in august already?
