... I walked into Game and saw this

http://www.busdrivergame.com/

and this

http://www.bussimulatorgame.com/

occupying prominent positions on the PC shelf.

My first thought was "genius! finally somebody has finally found a way to bring chav killing to the maintsream gaming market", but on closer inspection these games were just exactly what they said on the tin... bus simulators.

Exciting stuff. What's next? School janitor simulator? Garbage collector: the game? I guess it could be a good gift if you know someone who is a real bus driver, just incase they can't cram enough of sitting in a tiny cubicle, driving at break-nothing speeds and being held at knifepoint by chavs and ****** into their normal 9-5 day.

Does anyone actually play this junk?

I know what you mean, played that bus sim game (dont ask why:D) but is so crap, is full of bugs, crap graphic, but it does have a good modding community tho. you have d/l a city map with real bus so i guess some people really do like it.... and believe it or not there is a rubbish collector mod (read it in PC gamer Aug.):D

Bus enthusiasts maybe :p

Bus enthusiasts should be allowed 1 game max... that they have a choice of 2 is outrageous, given the current games draught.

Maybe I was a little too judgemental. It's probably a good alternative to microsoft flight sim if you are an anorak with bad hardware.

The lesson to be learnt is don't go to Game. I was accompanying my sister there and it was clear it's palms were being greased by EA. I refuse to believe that the sims can still occupy all top 4 positions in the game charts...

Don't judge the state of PC gaming by the sate of retail shelves. Most stores aren't the PC gamers best friend and don't know how to make them feel welcome (except the casuals).

Yeah I know. I felt violated just being there. I'm pretty sure they think all that pcs are used for is chess simulators and solitaire.

Don't you just love how pc gaming lets you live out your wildest fantasies and most surreal adventures...

the shop i have starred out is terrible.

When oblivion came out i had an FX-60, 7800GX2 and 4 x 1gb on XP and they told me to get the 360 version ... and when i went to buy the pc version they treated me like a kid and said it wont work and all this crap....

I just laughed @ the state of the cratered faces and smelly armpits and said

"ill get one of your 3 for £5 titles then because my dual core may be pushed with the likes of oblivion and mine sweeper"

They were speechless to say the least lol. I hate them at that shop - smarmy gits!

Your the one that sounds smarmy :o

If I ever see those bus simulator games in a bargain bucket for a couple of quid, I'd probably buy them for the novelty value.

I thought PC gaming was in a state, till i loaded up Mass Effect and Grid, and laughed at how much better they are than their console counterparts.

The PC is starting to comfortably stretch its legs in front of consoles again, should be a good winter for the PC.

Guys, its just a crap time of the year for PC games (well, unless you're a bus sim enthusiast :p) Happened last year as well.

Come Sep-Nov it will get good again. I remember last year thinking PC gaming was going to hell and then some amazing titles came out....The Witcher, NWN2:MotB, and various other stuff...

Sit tight and be patient :D
