Would these have killed me? (spiders)

Your not a real man until you've been bitten by a black widow and turned up to poison control with a strawberry milkshake and casual beach attire

there some Banana Spiders here, and in crewe is a fella with 14 venomous snakes, and i have 2 snakes, not harmfull, just 2 corn snakes!

All spiders everywhere are venomous. That's how they kill or subdue their prey. However, no UK are species are dangerous to humans.

None of those spiders could have killed you. If you had a reaction to the venom, then you may have needed to go to hospital, but you wouldn't die :)

Brazilian wandering spiders (Phoneutria spp.) are extremely dangerous. There have been reports of them coming in with fruit but this is very rare. Saying that though, I actually saw one that had been found in a shop and brought to a show to be identified. It was most definitely a Phoneutria spp. They are extremely aggressive too. Scarily enough, it had been transported there in a thin plastic cricket box (which it could have likely chomped its way out of very easily if it had a mind to) :)

Many more harmless species come in with fruit shipments.

The only venomous snake in the UK is the adder, Vipera berus.

Funnily enough, we had a phone call from one of the local vets earlier this evening as some kids had found a snake on some local heathland, and they didn't know what it was or what to do with it. The vet had been called and she had it in a pot in her airing cupboard

Fortunately for both the kids and the vet, it was a non venomous corn snake. I dread to think what could have happened if it was something else.

ive got 2 corn snakes, they are so cool, and all spiders can kill human, just the Uk ones fangs arnt tough enought to bite us
