LBP overhyped much?

If a game is being overhyped by the fans and not a marketing company, then that can only mean one thing. Halo 3 & GTA4 were shoved down our throats.

Well the hype has got to where it is now because pretty much 99% of the game press that have seen and played it are going mad over it, seems a good enough reason to me to be excited for it.

Less about defending the game, more about showing how stupid it is to claim a game overhyped before playing it.

What is hype?

How can you say something is over hyped without knowing whether it lives up to the hype?

Personally, I think it looks awesome, if i play it, and It doesn't live up to my expectations, then yes indeed i'll see it as over hyped.

Does it matter? No game can possibly achieve that statement.

Before I'm attacked I will add that I think the game is going to be quality, just not living up to that statement.

Of course. If you own a PS3 then obviously you are going to be excited about getting a AAA title. If you don't own a PS3, you're not going to be as bothered about a game you can't even play.

I'm sure it was exactly the same when Halo 3 / Mass Effect / Forza 2 / PGR 4 came out.
