OcUK Poker Thread.

I created the thread to get a "show of hands", as it were, as to if it was a good idea..

You just wanted the glory of a potentially big thread, didnt you :p

Hold on, just uploading some hands now.

My very first and last straight flush while playing online, was very lucky with that one, already had a straight 7 high, then on the river up pops the 2 of clubs, making a straight flush. ideal.

Another of my favourites. in the chat box, "I think whatleytom is cheating" lol'd at that one.

Tom.

That Jack Snipe guy lost a fair bit prior to this hand, think I played it quite nicely. Poor call on the flop from him, imo.

Why didn't you raise AA with so many people left to act behind you?

As I mentioned, that guy had lost a lot prior to that hand, and was trying to get it back quickly. He was super aggressive, so I thought I'd try and trap him. Yes, it may go wrong, but it didn't. I'd never limp against tight players.

That was a good idea this time, but I'd have been more worried about the other players left to act after you - who all have bigger stacks than the guy you beat ;)

So? If they called, I was probably making a larger raise, or even pushing. My trap worked nicely, as most of the time someone flat called, he'd raise regardless. Just so happens on this occasion, he had a legitimate raising hand.

Yes, it was a risk, but that's what gambling's all about. I might have raised in early position and made a whole $3, then lost that again when the blinds came back around. It's just how it goes.

I HATE people that do that. As if their ace high is going to be good, why not check it down, just in case the all-in player has them beat?

In fact, yours wasn't even ace high! What a mug :/

You just need to be able to observe and be able to single out the muppets, then you can take them for all their worth :) Not something I've mastered quite yet though.
